Description

Al Bidda Park, formerly known as Al Rumaila Park, is a park located near to the Qatar National Theater in Doha, Qatar. It is located near Doha Bay and overlooks the Doha Corniche. It is one of Doha’s oldest and most famous parks. It is one of the sites where people go birding. A children’s playground, modest stores, and the Cultural Village, a cultural heritage center, are all part of the park. The park reopened in February 2018 to commemorate National Sports Day after being closed for redevelopment in November 2014.

Al Bidda Park is home to a diverse range of vegetation. The park planting was carefully selected to give year-round appeal with a variety of colors, fragrances, textures, and forms. Although there are more formal portions of the park, much of the planting has been designed to provide a naturalistic aesthetic. There are almost 514,000 square meters of lawn and 274,500 square meters of planted areas in the park, so there is always something to view.

One recurring theme has been the adoption of plants that are better suited to Qatar’s climatic circumstances. This is important for sustainability and creates a landscape that blends in with its surroundings. These plants are almost always healthier for local species, such as native butterflies and birds.

A variety of sports, including football, tennis, volleyball, basketball, and an artificial grass football pitch, may be played utilizing an exceptional range of facilities. These must be reserved via the website or mobile application.

Al Bidda Park contains eight well-equipped play spaces. Sandpits and climbing frames, as well as swings and zip lines, may be found in these areas.

The entire park is one big playground for kids. In Arumailah, beside the National Flag, there are two mazes to explore. A vast network of cycle lanes may be utilized for riding, rollerblading, and skateboarding elsewhere.
