Keflavk (Driftwood Bay) is a town in Iceland’s southwest district of Reykjanes. When merged with the neighbouring town of Njarvk, its population in 2016 was 15,129.

In 1995, it amalgamated with Njarðvík and Hafnir to become Reykjanesbær, a municipality with a population of 15,233. (January 2016).

Climate of Keflavík

Keflavk has a subpolar oceanic climate with mild summers and fairly chilly winters. There is no such thing as a totally dry month, although July has the least amount of precipitation. Winter high temperatures average above freezing, while summer high temperatures range from cold to warm. The hottest month on average is July, with a high of 13 degrees Celsius (55 degrees Fahrenheit), while the coldest is January, with a high of 2 degrees Celsius (36 degrees Fahrenheit).
