Sveti Stefan (lit. “Saint Stephen”; Cyrillic: Свети Стефaн, Italian: Santo Stefano) is a tiny islet and 5-star hotel resort on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, about 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) southeast of Budva.
The resort, known commercially as Aman Sveti Stefan, comprises a portion of the mainland, which houses the Villa Miločer section of the resort. From the 1960s until the 1980s, the hotel was an Adriatic playground for the affluent and famous. It is currently a 5-star franchise hotel of the multinational company Aman Resorts, finished in 2009 and running under a 30-year lease. Sveti Stefan, once an island, is now joined to the mainland by a tiny isthmus. The resort has 50 rooms, bungalows, and suites on the island, as well as 8 grand suites at the Villa Miločer.
