West Lakes Golf Course & Villas, located about one hour west of Ho Chi Minh City, was the region’s first and only link-style golf course. West Lakes Golf has an 18-hole championship golf course that stretches over 7100 yards. West Lakes Golf and Villas, designed by Thomson Perrett, was one of the first courses to use Zeon Zoysia grass for the fairways, making it easy to hit off. Furthermore, the greens are turfed with the Tifeagle breed of Bermuda grass to provide the ideal golfing conditions for golfers of all levels. As a result, the grass provides quick running and pure rolling surfaces, allowing golfers of all skill levels to hit great tee shots.

Taking advantage of the natural elements of the West, the course is emphasized by countless stunning lakes that stand out on any golf course. The fairways are structured like undulating waves, and the sand traps are ingeniously placed. Thomson’s courses are distinguished by gorgeous lakes and undulating fairways, as well as strategically placed bunkers. The color of the magnificent grass blossoms adds to the peaceful scenery, all with a distinct impression of Thomson Perrett’s creative style.

The front nine begins with wide fairways and landing spots, while the back nine features more difficult holes and numerous challenges. Golfers at West Lakes Golf Course may require numerous layup shots from the fairway and greenside bunkers to achieve high scores.

Every hole on the course has water hazards in the form of lakes or streams of various shapes. Golfers may need to take calculated shots to avoid these water hazards. Starting with the par-4 first hole, water runs down both sides of the fairways. Then there are similar characteristics on the second and third holes, where water runs across the green in front. The par-5 7th hole is the longest, measuring 610 yards and surrounded by largely water, particularly a large lake on the left. Golfers next proceed to the par-3 eighth hole, which features a green set between a small lake and is defended by three bunkers.

The 18th hole is a par-4 (445 yards from the gold tee) that requires a simple tee shot to clear the water. However, you must be cautious with your drive because there are two fairway bunkers and large lakes running along the left side. There’s one more bunker sheltering the front right, as well as some rough water, so you’ll need to be precise when approaching the green.

The Club House spans over 3000m2 and has numerous facilities, ensuring that players receive the best service possible while training and resting at West Lakes Golf Vietnam. There are locker rooms for men, women, and VIPs, as well as dressing rooms, saunas and steam rooms, and a Japanese-styled bathroom. The clubhouses have a pro store where golfers can purchase any necessary equipment. In addition, a large driving range allows golfers to practice professional shots. The restaurant is also a feature, with a view of the entire golf course and the stunning western countryside environment. The restaurant is luxuriously designed and spacious, serving Western, Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese cuisine. There are also food and beverage stalls on the course at holes 1, 6, and 14.
