Description

The Twin Doves Golf Club is a 27-hole championship members golf course that meets worldwide standards. The Twin Doves parkland course, 1.5 hours from Saigon, divides Luna, Mare, and Sole into three nines. The Saigon golf course is one of the best-kept in the city, with Paspalum turf and significant landscaping.

The Luna Course, with vistas of rural Vietnam, is made up of many little hills, fruit orchards, and nearby forests. The mounding and land formations combine to create difficult hazards, and rolling hills connect five holes, with tree-lined fairways flanking the rest.

The Mare Course is more natural, with creeks and forests flanking all of the holes. Fairways are small, and accurate shot-making is essential for good scoring. Because most greens are multi-tiered and guarded by water hazards, shot precision is critical to a decent score. The most interesting of the three nines is the Mare Course.

The Sole Course has an island green, beach bunkers, and is designed to play around a blue lake. The number nine is both visually beautiful and difficult. This nine also has seven par-4s and only one par-3 and one par-5. For this unusual routing, most players try to avoid the Sole Curse. In any event, with a variety of natural water hazards and challenges, this nine is still appealing.

The Twin Doves facilities are entirely 5-star, as one would expect from a private members club. Locker rooms, practice grounds, and possibly Saigon’s greatest pro shop all contribute to the enjoyment of golf at Twin Doves. The international restaurant serves a variety of Vietnamese, Asian, and Western fare, however the majority of the membership prefers Korean dishes. Open-air eating overlooking the golf course and air-conditioned dining alternatives ensure that all visiting Saigon golfers have a good time.
