Thanh Lanh Valley Golf and Resort
Description
Thanh Lanh Valley Golf & Resort (Serena Valley Resort Golf & Club), located 1,000 meters above sea level, offers a cool climate with an average temperature between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius throughout the year. This course is approximately two hours by car from Hanoi. A bypass route connecting the Tam Dao, Thanh Lanh, and Dai Lai golf areas facilitates access to several outstanding golf clubs.
Thanh Lanh Golf Club is a masterpiece of renowned architect Sir Nick Faldo in Vietnam. Nick Faadlo and his team utilized the natural terrain of Thanh Lanh Lake and the neighboring Tam Dao mountain valley. At Thanh Lanh, players play distinct portions including water-surrounded, hillside, parkland, and a brief stretch of links golf. The most iridescent holes are located on a peninsula atop Thanh Lanh Lake. Returning nines play both out and back and share the site’s charm. The final holes are played down the lake’s shoreline to the clubhouse, which is surrounded by a stunning mountain range.
Faldo utilized natural streams and topography to provide diversity and intrigue to his shotmaking. And while the course may extend to almost 7,000 yards, five sets of tees and ample breadth make it accessible to golfers of all skill levels.
Each hole at Serena Valley Golf Resort & Club has its own impressive characteristics that captivate golfers. The second par five hole has a slightly sloping fairway leading to a green flanked by numerous bunkers. With bunkers and woods behind the green, the fourth hole towards the island offers the best vista. This hole also features a separate additional tee on the island. The par-5 sixth hole is continuously undulating, posing formidable challenges for golfers. This is the shortest par 3 on the Thanh Lanh golf course, and it features a heart-shaped oasis with a view of the clubhouse and nearby hotel. There are two fairways, two bunkers, and a water hazard on the par-four fifteenth hole, making it an exceedingly difficult one. The par-5 18th hole is regarded the most attractive on the course. From this vantage point, golfers can see the clubhouse as well as the white fairway and two-tone green grass leading to the green.
The clubhouse at Serena Valley Resort resembles a medieval castle as it overlooks the final holes at Thanh Lanh. Modern components such as accent lighting, VIP areas packed with amenities, and a fully stocked pro shop are featured but concealed from view. Private resort villas are offered for both short- and long-term leases behind the clubhouse.
