Description

The Taekwang Jeongsan Country Club is situated on its island in the Saigon River. Golfers visiting the Ho Chi Minh City golf course must leave the city on Vietnam’s main north-south highway and take a ferry across the Saigon River. The golf course is around 90 minutes’ drive from Ho Chi Minh City’s central hotel districts. A private speedboat taxi up to the river is a faster option. A number of boat taxis depart from the harbor near the Saigon Zoo.

Golfplan – Dale & Ramsey Golf Course Architects from the United States designed the 18-hole Korean-owned course. The out and back design is typical of high-end resort courses. The tips stretch out to 7395 yards, however there are forward tees for a more relaxing round of golf.

Heavy bunkering on numerous holes of this generally flattish area gives interest and enjoyment to the golf course while also posing challenges to even the most seasoned golfers. Paspalum grassed fairways, greens, and tees guarantee soft conditions and good ball lays.

The initial nine holes run along the river and provide some great views to the right of numerous holes. The trademark holes are holes 9 and 18, with 9 being a lengthy par-4 and 18 being a dogleg par-5. Both lead directly to the clubhouse, so choose the correct green. Between the number 9 green (left) and the number 18 green (right), both holes share a bunker (right). Playing on the Out (Sun Course) and In (Moon Course) courses results in a really fun day of golf in Saigon.

The huge clubhouse serves as a focal point for the residential and business districts located to the side of the Jeongsan course. Golfers will discover exquisite locker rooms with spa facilities, two restaurants serving local and Korean favorites, and a well-stocked pro shop inside the clubhouse.
