Sofia City Art Gallery

The bulky structure at the southern end of the City Garden park has an art gallery with two floors of changing exhibits of predominantly modern Bulgarian and foreign art. Enter via the ul Knyaz Al Batenberg.

Museum exhibits, curator initiatives, solo and group exhibitions of works by Bulgarian and international artists are held at the Sofia City Art Gallery. Through themed, genre-oriented, style-based, and historical exhibits, the gallery displays artworks from its collection. The presenting of traveling exhibitions is an important aspect of the gallery’s openness to worldwide art trends. It also conducts retrospective exhibits of works by notable Bulgarian artists, while maintaining strong contact with emerging artists and curators. It collaborates with several Bulgarian and international organisations to further the development of the contemporary art scene.
