Bitexco Financial Tower
Description
Bitexco Financial Tower is a skyscraper in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. When it was finished in 2010, it surpassed Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower as the highest structure in Vietnam, a title it held until January 2011. As of May 2022, the structure, which has 68 floors above ground and three basements, is 262.5 meters (861 feet) tall, making it the second-highest structure in the city, the fourth-tallest in Vietnam, and the 412th tallest structure in the entire world.
Bitexco Group, a Vietnamese multi-industry company with a concentration on real estate development, is the tower’s owner. In addition, the building houses Bitexco Group’s Ho Chi Minh City office; the company’s Hanoi headquarters are located elsewhere.
With French firm AREP serving as the official architect, the skyscraper was created by Carlos Zapata, Design Principal and Founder of Carlos Zapata Studio. The Lotus, the national flower of Vietnam, served as the source of inspiration for architect Zapata, who was born in Venezuela but now resides in New York City.
The skyscraper was formally opened on October 31, 2010. The Bitexco Financial Tower was recognized as one of the 25 Great Skyscraper Icons of Construction by CNN.com in 2013. The Bitexco Financial Tower was ranked as the second-coolest skyscraper in the world by Thrillist.com in 2015.
The Bitexco Financial Tower is more than just a glass and steel structure; it is also a representation of the rapid growth of the economy of Ho Chi Minh City, a significant economic hub in Vietnam. An excellent illustration of originality and ingenuity is the Bitexco Financial Tower.
The city’s first observation deck, located on the 49th floor, is one of the tower’s features. All guests can now access Saigon Skydeck as of January 1, 2011. The Skydeck, which offers a wide range of services and amenities for guests, has been open to both local and foreign guests since July 2011. Visitors to Saigon Skydeck have the ability to not only take in the expansive views of Ho Chi Minh City and the Saigon River, but also to take advantage of the Skydeck’s amenities and services.
The Skydeck will be a popular stop for domestic and foreign travelers traveling through Ho Chi Minh City this year due to the numerous events it will host and the special offers it will have for various consumer groups.
