Nessebar Municipality describes the resort coastline as about eight kilometres long and generally 30 to 60 metres wide, with fine golden sand, dunes and a large choice of activities. That scale matters when planning a visit because “Sunny Beach” is not a single small beach entrance. The central concession is one defined part of a much longer shoreline, and the experience can change noticeably as you walk north or south. The central sector is especially useful for first-time visitors because accommodation, food and resort services are concentrated immediately behind the sand.

A typical visit is built around uncomplicated beach time: swimming, sunbathing and walking the shore, with food and drinks available in the developed resort area. The municipal tourism authority promotes a broad range of water and leisure activities across Sunny Beach, although individual operators, prices and availability can vary by season and by beach section. Do not assume that every activity advertised for the resort operates directly in front of the central concession on the day you visit. Southward, the beach gradually approaches the area commonly called Cacao Beach and then the direction of Nessebar; northward, the resort continues through long developed stretches with their own beach services.
