Stay Safe & Healthy in Vung Tau

Although pickpockets are not frequently sighted, bag snatching (commonly stealing bags or purses) is increasing. Visitors should avoid carrying their personal valuables in their luggage and keep them at night to a minimum, especially around the city centre or the front and back beaches. Cyclists, motorcyclists, even pedestrians have had their bags or purses stolen. This sometimes leads to forceful shoving or striking aimed at distracting the victim and anyone else nearby while allowing the criminals to make good their escape. Robberies increase towards Tet but less common than in Ho Chi Minh City. It doesn’t take much for one to prevent theft though.
