Description

Trinh Cong Son walking street is 900 meters long and runs alongside West Lake’s water park and lotus ponds. It connects alley 431 of Au Co Street with alley 612 of Lac Long Quan Street in Tay Ho District.

Trinh Cong Son Street, which is neither in the city center nor surrounded by ancient landmarks, is a favorite of many visitors, especially during the lotus season, for its pure air and tranquil, romantic ambiance.

The street is definitely one of Hanoi’s most beautiful corners. On weekends, much of the area is often closed to traffic, fountains are illuminated, and the sidewalks are lined with small pubs and cafes. Small tree-lined ponds adorned with a variety of well-kept hanging baskets give this region an uniquely European vibe – or, at the very least, a small taste of calm in juxtaposition to hectic downtown Hanoi.

This street was named after Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001), a respected Vietnamese artist known as Vietnam’s Bob Dylan. He was a famous songwriter, painter, poet, and downright romantic – everyone here adores his love songs – and he is most remembered for writing anti-war songs during the American invasion.
