Thong Nhat Park (Lenin Park) encompasses 50 hectares and features a large lake, several jogging and walking paths, reading benches, badminton courts, and a few children’s rides. The park is also known as the Reunification park since it was founded in 1960 with the goal of reunifying the country, which was then divided.

History Of Thong Nhat Park

Since its establishment in 1958, Thong Nhat Park has been the green lung of Hanoi for more than 50 years. The park’s name, which means “reunification,” represents a desire to unify Vietnam at that time, in addition to its primary function of satisfying Hanoi residents’ desire for pleasure. Thong Nhat Park is also known as Lenin Park as a gesture of goodwill by Vietnam to honor Lenin on his 110th birthday.

How to get To Thong Nhat Park

Thong Nhat Park is adjacent to the Hanoi Circus and is approximately 15 minutes by bicycle from the Old Quarter. It is easily accessible via its three entrances on Tran Quoc Toan Street, Le Duan Street, and Dai Co Viet Street for as little as forty cents. The park can be reached in less than ten minutes by cab or motorbike from Hoan Kiem Lake.
