Ta Hien Street
Description
Ta Hien Street in Hanoi is a cultural crossroads where many cultures converge. Along this narrow lane are little French-style buildings with Vietnamese-style tiled roofs. Hanoi beer street, like many other famous pedestrian streets in this country, becomes more active and busy at night.
Ta Hien is a small street located near Hoan Kiem Lake in the famed Old Quarter of Hanoi. The street is only 200 meters long, but it is one of the most congested streets in Hanoi and Old Quarter in particular. Ta Hien has the most distinctive characteristics of both ancient and contemporary Hanoi. It is known as the “international junction” and attracts both foreigners and Hanoians. Ta Hien Street – the beer street of Hanoi – is the first street where the bulk of international visitors to Hanoi set foot either entering or leaving the city.
On the narrow and packed Ta Hien street, you can get a range of the best Hanoi street delicacies, including Nem chua, Vietnamese bread, noodles, and sweet porridges… Particularly in the summer, Ta Hien is renowned for its beer. Summer in Hanoi is quite hot and dam. And this is why people chose chilled beer as their preferred beverage. After a long day of work, hundreds of international tourists and Vietnamese locals congregate on this narrow street in the late afternoon to drink iced beer. They simply sit on a little plastic chair, hold a beer cup, order some snacks, and converse with their buddies.
There are numerous types of beer available, including draft beer, bottled beer, cask ale, and black beer. According to reviews, Vietnamese beer is sweet and very light, so you can consume more than five glasses without getting drunk. The prices are typically low.
The majority of beer restaurants in Ta Hien have a modest, street-style design. Everything is located on the street, with plastic chairs serving as both seats and tables. Customers may order a pint of beer and remain seated for hours without being disturbed. The main attractions of Ta Hien Street are the pleasant and welcoming ambiance as well as the excellent beers and cuisine.
The greater the temperature, the greater the number of visitors to Ta Hien. Occasionally on weekends, there are no available seats. The street becomes more congested after 5 p.m., when the sun is close to set and the temperature drops. Ta Hien Street is attracting tens of thousands of travelers from all over the world. After a long day of seeing the Old Quarter, it is a memorable experience to stop here for a beverage.
The lively beer haven is located at the intersection of Ta Hien and Luong Ngoc Quyen streets in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, where hundreds of people can be seen seated on plastic stools with a glass of bia hoi.
