Description

The Saigon Central Mosque, (also known as Masjid Musalman or Dong Du Mosque) is one of Ho Chi Minh City’s twelve mosques. This mosque, constructed in 1935 by South Indian Muslims, was a calm and somber place of worship for exclusively South Indian residents of Saigon. Today, however, Muslims from all over the world can come here to profess their religion.

Green and white in hue, the mosque is located in the heart of the city on Dong Du Street in District 1 and distinguishes out for its location. Thanks to the shady veranda and cool stone floors, this is a great spot to sit and reflect during the hot summer days.

Outside the mosque, there are numerous street vendors serving halal delicacies, including curries, cookies, and bread. In addition, there are various Vietnamese eateries outside the mosque where you may enjoy delicious halal lunch and dinner options.

The Saigon Central Mosque is open daily from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm for free. Fridays are typically very busy. If you wish to gain a deeper understanding of the Muslim culture in Vietnam, it would be wise to visit this tranquil mosque. Before entering a mosque, remember to dress with respect, no tank tops or short skirts, and remove your shoes.
