Description

Al Noor Mosque, the sole mosque in Hanoi and the northern region, is always packed with worshippers from the city and its environs every Friday. The mosque was only around 700 square meters in size when it was formally inaugurated in 1890, but it was constructed in the traditional Islamic style with a dome, curving doorways, and a minaret.

Visiting a mosque may be a deep experience for people with a passion for culture, religion, and architecture; yet, if you are inexperienced with mosque norms, the visit, depending on the emotions of the worshiper in front of you, can sometimes be harsh. If you are staying in the Old Quarter of Hanoi, renting a bicycle is the ideal method to visit the Mosque.

A few easy guidelines will ensure that your visit to a mosque does not violate the laws of politeness.

It is essential to understand the primary function of the location: A masjid is a place of worship, and whether or not you believe, there are rules to observe. These rules may be found in the Qur’ a and the sunna of the Prophet Muhammad.

As you arrive, observe where worshipers are praying and move silently to the back to locate a space to sit in peace. Do not snap photos with a flash or of individuals, and do not wander into the mosque without first sitting for prayer. Women typically go to the left side of the mosque or the back, and this restriction applies to tourists as well. Men are not permitted to sit behind ladies. And females should sit with other females. Despite the fact that the masjid’s grids may be closed between prayer times, you can enter the building from the door to the left of the main entrance.
