Novotel Sofia in Sofia, Bulgaria

Plan Novotel Sofia with 178 rooms, family facilities, free parking, fitness, restaurant, 24-hour reception and access to Sofia Tech Park.

Novotel Sofia is a four-star Accor hotel at 115 N Tsarigradsko Shosse Boulevard in Sofia’s eastern business district, close to Sofia Tech Park, major office developments and The Mall. Accor describes it as a family-friendly and business-friendly hotel with 178 rooms, a restaurant, lounge bar, fitness centre, meeting facilities and on-site parking. It suits business travellers, families who value larger rooms and play facilities, and visitors who prefer easy road and airport access over a historic-centre address. The main limitation is distance from central sightseeing: Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and the Serdika area are several kilometres away, so guests should plan on taxis, public transport or the hotel shuttle rather than relying on walking.

The room offer is broad enough for couples, families and business guests. Standard and Superior rooms begin around 24 square metres, while family rooms add sofa beds and can accommodate an additional guest. Mountain View rooms trade extra city convenience for a Vitosha outlook, and Executive rooms provide more living space and additional seating. Accor also lists suites and larger corner-room categories. Across the range, current room information includes air-conditioning, high-speed internet, desks, kettles, refrigerators and soundproofing. Some upgraded categories add complimentary minibar items and Nespresso machines.

Families are a clear target audience rather than an afterthought. Accor lists play areas, video-game space and children’s club facilities for younger age groups, while several room types are designed around adults travelling with children. The hotel’s layout and The Mall nearby can make rainy-day or evening logistics easier for families than a smaller city-centre property. Parents should still check which children’s facilities are actively staffed during their dates, because hotel family services can vary by season and occupancy.

The location is particularly strong for eastern Sofia. The Mall is about 600 metres away, and the hotel is close to Sofia Tech Park and the Inter Expo Center corridor. Drivers benefit from on-site parking, while Accor also lists EV charging. The hotel advertises free parking in its current description, although the detailed parking section mainly describes the facility itself, so guests who require a guaranteed free space should confirm the rate conditions. The airport shuttle is available on request for an additional charge.

Check-in begins at 15:00 and check-out is by 12:00. Booking.com currently lists a 24-hour front desk, making Novotel practical for irregular arrival times. The hotel’s location near the airport does not mean it is a terminal hotel, so travellers should allow road or shuttle time and avoid treating the airport connection as instantaneous. Guests arriving by car will find the boulevard location simpler than the historic centre, particularly when carrying luggage or travelling with children.

Dining is handled by Novo2 Restaurant and the Novo2 Lounge Bar. Accor describes the restaurant as serving breakfast, lunch and dinner with international cuisine, while vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are listed. The bar serves cocktails and snacks and has a terrace in warmer weather. Buffet breakfast is an additional-charge item under the current Accor service listing, so it should not be assumed to be included in every room rate. A small early snack option from reception is also advertised for guests leaving before normal breakfast service.

The fitness centre is on site, and the hotel also lists a steam room. This gives business and family travellers a practical way to exercise without leaving the building. Novotel is not positioned as a destination spa, so visitors looking for extensive treatments, pools or thermal facilities should choose a different property. The fitness component is better understood as a useful hotel amenity than the reason to book.

Business facilities are substantial. Accor currently lists seven meeting rooms and a business centre, with the largest setup able to host around 200 people. This makes the hotel suitable for conferences, company events and weddings as well as individual work trips. Its location in a business district reinforces that role. Conference days can change the rhythm of the lobby and restaurant, something leisure guests may want to keep in mind.

Accessibility is well documented. Accor lists the hotel as wheelchair accessible and says four rooms are designed for guests with reduced mobility. Accessible parking and an accessible business centre are also noted. Travellers who need a specific bathroom configuration should still request the appropriate room in advance, but the property has stronger accessibility evidence than many smaller hotels.

Pets are allowed under Accor’s current hotel information, with fees or conditions to be confirmed directly. The property is entirely non-smoking. For travellers combining Sofia with a road trip, business meetings or an airport departure, those practical policies are more important than proximity to a landmark.

Novotel Sofia is most compelling when its eastern location is an advantage. Use the Tsarigradsko Shosse 115 N address, confirm shuttle and parking terms, choose a family or executive room if extra space matters, and use the restaurant and fitness centre to reduce unnecessary cross-city travel. For visitors who need Sofia Tech Park, The Mall, the airport corridor or flexible family accommodation, the hotel offers a clearer fit than a central boutique property.
