Zahariy Stoyanov was a Bulgarian revolutionary, writer, and historian.

He was a participant in the April Uprising of 1876, and his book Memoirs of the Bulgarian Uprisings became its first historiographer.

Stoyanov oversaw the unification of Bulgaria and Eastern Rumelia in 1885 and was a member of the People’s Liberal Party until his death.
