Since its formal launch on March 28th, 2013, Paradise Center has established Bulgaria’s lifestyle center as the most appealing area for commerce and recreation, with amazing architecture and interior design.
The Paradise Center symbolizes Sofia’s true nature: energetic, trendy, green, developing and preserving the warmth of the traditional urban environment. This is also the biggest project of its kind in Bulgaria, as well as one of Europe’s most distinctive mall constructions. The idea is based on the synergy of man and nature, which is reflected in both the project’s logo and every element of the structure.
The lifestyle mall concept distinguishes itself in the new standard and mode of spending one’s leisure time, in the wide range of services and entertainments for people of all ages – from sports venues, restaurants and cafés, to children’s centers, attraction areas, and cinemas, to the largest and most modern events hall. The structure has been created with large internal and outside areas to accommodate the estimated number of visitors. Aside from the rich volumes, the sensation of luxury and higher standard is accomplished by the use of current high-quality materials in the shopping center’s construction.
Paradise Core’s remarkable architecture and design were inspired by its unique position — between the city center and the mountain. RTKL Associates Inc. created the conceptual design, which is the work of an international architectural practice that has designed over 4,000,000 square meters of retail space throughout the globe. The design was created in collaboration with famous Bulgarian designers ProArch AD and Planning EOOD. BULFELD EOOD is the principal investor in Paradise Center, while Comfort OOD is the main contractor.
The Canyon and the Terrace, with their distinct architecture and design, aid tourists in orienting themselves. Accents, such as the waterfall flow across three floors, the imposing ornamental wall simulating a canyon with a height of nearly 20 m, and the various fountains and geysers, are the emblem of a fresh approach in the creation of the retail places. Light, as a building element, also plays an important role in the perception of the space. The interchange of rooms with varying degrees of light intensity creates a varied and engaging ambience. The inclusion of several roof glazing components permits maximum natural light penetration, notably in the Paradise Center’s major atriums.
The retail center has a gross floor space of more than 208,000 square meters and a gross leasable area of more than 80,000 square meters.
The underground parking area includes two floors, two entrances – one from Henrik Ibsen St. and one from Todor Kableshkov Blvd. – and two exits – one from Srebarna St. and one from Cherni Vrah Blvd., with over 2000 parking spaces.
Zones
In terms of interior design, the Paradise Center is divided into four zones: the boulevard, the canyon, the terrace, and the garden, each with a unique idea and style.
The project’s centerpiece is a natural Garden with two waterfalls and a lake with a bridge. The garden, which is located in the center atrium, is lit by natural light. The panoramic elevator links the bottom floor to the upper stories.
The Boulevard in Paradise Center is a high roadway with walkways, trees, small and big fashion businesses, banks, pharmacies, jewelry and gift stores, and so on.
The Canyon and the Terrace both have their own distinct architectural styles.
The second level is dedicated to entertainment. A Cinema City International multiplex featuring 14 halls, an ice rink, and four restaurants with panoramic terraces, as well as a quick food section.
The third level has a fitness facility, SPA, squash courts, and tennis courts. There are few restaurants and bars there.
On the top terrace, there is a theme park.
Shopping, Services, Entertainment
Zara, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Stradivarius, Massimo Dutti, Oysho, the fashion powerhouse LPP – Reserved, Mohito, Cropp, House are among the core tenants. H&M, the world’s largest fashion retailer, is also featured in the shopping center. SEPHORA, MAC, DOUGLAS, NEW YORKER, and LCW are among the main cosmetics brands represented. For the first time, DIRK BIKKEMBERGS, ORIGINAL MARINES, FOLLI FOLLIE, COLLECTIVE, VERSACE, HUGO BOSS, LOVE MOSCHINO, and other foreign companies launched monobrand shops in Bulgaria.
Among the anchor tenants is the well-known chain Technopolis. The trade mix also includes stores selling domestic goods, home décor, stylish optics, ZooMall, and so on.
The entertainment section of Paradise Center is unrivaled in the nation. Cinema City, an international brand, draws moviegoers with a 14-hall multiplex, featuring a 4DX cinema theater with 100 seats. Walltopia, a Bulgarian firm that is also the world’s biggest maker of climbing walls, has created an entertainment center for adults and children, Funtopia Bulgaria, as well as a trampoline park called Ninja Park. Sky Park is also a wonder – the first theme entertainment park in Bulgaria, with a total area of 7,460 square meters. The one-of-a-kind design is the brainchild of top designer Valerio Mazzoli, who is known for constructing comparable DISNEYLAND amusement parks all over the globe, which astound with their spectacular scale. Along with the entertainment comes the first ICE SYNTHETIC RINK, which spans 200 square meters.
Happy and SASA, two well-known restaurants, have fully updated their concepts with a grill and BBQ. A range of restaurants, including the Mediterranean restaurant Porto Maltese, Mr. Pizza, Bulgarian cuisine, coffee shops, and sweets stores, provide foreign food in a comfortable setting.
The Orange Fitness sports complex has 4,032 square meters and includes a swimming pool, a recreational SPA and relaxing centers, fitness, squash, spinning, and yoga.
The Sofia Event Center, a unique in its nature multipurpose complex with no comparable in Bulgaria, plays an essential role in Paradise Center’s positioning as the new destination for conducting events in the capital. It has a 2000-seat hall as well as an outside view deck.
In the first few months after its debut, Paradise Center established itself as a fashion, entertainment, and events lifestyle center, a popular hangout for the capital’s residents and visitors, and a venue for some of the most significant events on Bulgaria’s cultural and commercial calendar. The challenge that Paradise Center presently faces is to sustain its growth by focusing on creative firms and high standards in trade forms, appealing ways to spend one’s leisure time, and event management leadership.
Location
The mall is in a densely populated area of the city, and building has generated significant congestion in the local region. The mall is one of the largest in the nation and in Central and Eastern Europe as a whole. Cherni Vrah Blvd., Henrik Ibsen St., and Todor Kableshkov Blvd. were used to construct the retail mall. Access is simple, whether by automobile or by aboveground or subterranean public transportation. The M2 metro line expansion calls for the building of a metro station, Vitosha, with a direct entrance-exit to level -1 of the retail mall.
The Paradise Center provides an exceptional view of Vitosha Mountain as well as good connection to any region of the city.
