Bulgaria Mall is a retail center located in Sofia, Bulgaria. It first opened its doors on December 1, 2012. Among its retailers are both foreign and Bulgarian brands.
The retail mall is located at the crossroads of Bulgaria Boulevard and Todor Kableshkov Boulevard in Sofia. The mall was erected as part of a mixed-use retail and office project with a total built-up area of roughly 130,000 m2 (33,000 m2 for the commercial sector). The shopping complex has four basement levels (garage and a 5,600 m2 hypermarket) and four above ground floors with shops and entertainment. There are roughly 1,100 parking spots available in the parking complex. The office section of the construction, which comprises of a high-rise office tower and an office building, has 25,000 m2 of available space. One of the largest skylights in Central and Eastern Europe may be seen in the mall. Bulgaria Mall is owned by Myles Summerfield and Nikola Yanakiev.
Construction of Bulgaria Mall
Bulgaria Mall’s architectural design was created by the Israeli firm MYS Architects Studio. 17.5 Studio is the Bulgarian partner. The design’s main benefit is its simplicity. The retail center’s four levels (ground floor + three storeys) are planned around a huge open area – an architectural approach that allows customers to easily travel and offers them superb visibility from and to any place in the shopping mall.
Bulgaria Mall was built by Cordeel, a Bulgarian division of the Belgian corporation Cordeel. According to Vladimir Andreev, Cordeel’s project director, the objective was to produce a light vision, with the circular parts of the interior being a significant difficulty. The curves were created using glass reinforced gypsum. The components are manufactured in London and placed on-site.
