Iron sculptures of the renowned father and son poets, Pencho and Petko Slaveikov, sit on a bench in Slaveikov Square.

Petko Rachov Slaveykov (17 November 1827 OS – 1 July 1895 OS) was a poet, publicist, politician, and folklorist from Bulgaria.

Pencho Petkov Slaveykov (27 April 1866 O.S. – 10 June 1912) was a notable Bulgarian poet and one of the Misal (“Thought”) circle members. He was the writer Petko Slaveykov’s youngest son.
