This stone pyramid-like memorial honors the fallen medics of the Russian-Turkish War of 1877-1878 who died in the battles of Pleven, Plovdiv, Shipka, and Mechka.
Built in 1883-1884 by Russian architect Antoniy Osipovich Tonishko, it is a beautiful and poignant memorial surrounded by the very pretty Doctors Gardens.
