Description

Kaliakra is a long and narrow cape on the Black Sea coast. It has been a protected area since 1941 and has been declared a nature reserve.

It is one of the most beautiful capes in Europe. It is located in the far north of the country, near the Romanian border.

There are several private beaches, three golf courses and luxury restaurants. A surprisingly picturesque part of the coast. The Kaliakra Peninsula stretches 2 km into the Black Sea.

At the entrance to the cape there is an obelisk known as the “Door of 40 Girls”, in memory of the girls who jumped from the cape to save themselves from being captured by Turkish soldiers, and the remains of the 5th century Kaliakra Fortress are nearby.

Nearby is the town of Dobrich. Here it is possible to go down the cliff and swim in the crystal clear sea. At the very top of the cape inside the rocks there is an interesting restaurant.

Access to the cape is good. It can be reached by car. There is parking for cars.
