Aparthotel Les Olimpiades is a three-star self-catering property at Carrer de la Solana 33 in Pas de la Casa. Its defining advantage is direct access to Grandvalira’s ski slopes: guests can leave the building through the ski-storage area and reach the pistes without first walking through the village. The aparthotel stands about 450 metres from the village shops, according to the operator, so it trades a slopeside position for a slightly longer walk to the central commercial streets. Studios and one-bedroom apartments accommodate parties of two to five, most with views over the slopes.

The accommodation combines apartment independence with hotel services. Studio options include three-, four- and five-person layouts, while one-bedroom units sleep up to four or five. A studio may place all beds in one room; a one-bedroom apartment separates a double bed from additional single beds in the living area. Kitchenettes include a refrigerator, hob, microwave, toaster, kettle and coffee maker, allowing guests to prepare simple meals. Rooms also have a television, bathroom, Wi-Fi and safe. Cleaning is provided daily except for the kitchen, and the operator says bed-making and rubbish collection are included; final cleaning also excludes the kitchen. Guests should check the exact unit category and bed plan, especially when travelling with children or sharing with friends.

The property has 24-hour reception and key collection, which is useful for late travel, but the hotel directory lists a standard check-in from 16:00 and checkout by 10:00. The front desk being open around the clock does not mean a room is ready before the published check-in time. Luggage arrangements and early arrival should be confirmed with the property. The operator says pets are not allowed, and Grandvalira marks the aparthotel as inaccessible for guests with reduced mobility. Anyone with accessibility needs should contact the property directly about the route, lifts, unit layout and any steps rather than relying on a general hotel amenity list.

Each apartment has an individual ski locker, and the building provides direct piste access. This arrangement can save time for groups carrying equipment and avoids taking skis into the living space. A ski-rental shop and Duna Blanca workshop operate at the property, while lift passes and insurance can be sold through reception. These services may involve separate charges and seasonal opening; check what is available for the dates booked. The aparthotel also has limited parking spaces about 100 metres away, and the operator advises reserving in advance. Hotels.com lists self-parking at €20 per night, but the price can change and should be reconfirmed.

Two food venues operate at the foot of the slopes. Snack Soul has a covered heated terrace and the official site lists hours from 09:00 to 21:00, with DJs or parties in the evenings. Restaurant Sens is described as open from 08:00 until midnight, with a terrace beside the pistes. These are distinct businesses with different schedules; neither is a promise that an apartment booking includes meals. Hotels.com lists a buffet breakfast from 08:00 to 10:30 for an additional charge, with a published price of €15 for adults and €8.20 for children on that platform. Confirm current prices and seasonal opening directly, as restaurant services may change outside ski season.

Pas de la Casa is a high-altitude resort close to the French border. Staying directly on the slopes makes Les Olimpiades particularly suited to winter sports and gives guests a convenient base for lessons, equipment rental and lift access. The experience is different from staying in the village centre: shops and some restaurants are about 450 metres away, while slopeside food and rental are close. In ski boots or during snowfall, even a few hundred metres can take longer than expected. Check Grandvalira’s current lift and piste status before planning a ski route, as mountain operations depend on weather and conditions.

The setting can also be attractive in warmer months, when the surrounding Pyrenees offer mountain views, walks and cycling routes. However, the aparthotel’s restaurant, rental shop and direct ski services are tied closely to resort operations and may follow seasonal schedules. Contact the property to confirm which facilities are open during a summer stay. Self-catering helps when restaurant choices are limited, but guests should verify what kitchen equipment and cleaning supplies are provided in the assigned apartment. The operator’s website says kitchen cleaning is excluded from housekeeping and final cleaning, so visitors should ask about expectations before checking out.

For drivers, the limited parking makes advance coordination important. Ask whether a space is available, how to reserve it, where to unload luggage and whether the car park is suitable for the vehicle. The listed spaces are around 100 metres away rather than directly outside every apartment entrance. Pas de la Casa’s mountain roads can be affected by snow, wind and traffic; check current road conditions before travelling via Port d’Envalira or the tunnel. Arrival time matters too: coordinate keys with reception if a journey may be delayed, even though the desk is listed as 24-hour.

Les Olimpiades suits families and ski groups who want a kitchen, multiple beds and immediate access to the slopes. It is less suitable for visitors who need step-free access or guaranteed onsite parking, and its apartment-style setup requires more self-management than a conventional hotel room. Before booking, confirm the number of bedrooms, bed arrangement, cleaning expectations, parking and which dining venues will be open. With those details settled, the aparthotel gives guests a direct piste-side base while preserving the flexibility of a self-catering stay.
