Mu Hotel & Spa is a four-star mountain hotel in La Cortinada, a village in Ordino parish in northern Andorra. Older listings call it Hotel Mu Plaza or Hotel Mu; the current operator uses Mu Hotel & Spa. The hotel has 50 rooms, a restaurant, bar, room service and a wellness area with a jacuzzi, Turkish bath and outdoor Nordic tub. Its location suits visitors exploring the Ordino valley and the nearby Ordino Arcalís ski area, although the resort is reached by road rather than from the hotel doorstep. A practical benefit is the current restaurant’s posted meal and bar schedule; a notable limitation is that spa access costs extra and should be booked or confirmed separately.

La Cortinada lies along the CG-3 in the northern Ordino valley, among small villages, historic buildings and routes toward the Sorteny and Comapedrosa landscapes. The hotel stands at Avinguda de la Cortinada, 19. Google Hotels uses Av. de la Cortinada without the street number, while the operator provides the number and locality. The village is a useful base for road trips to Ordino-Arcalís and for walking or cycling nearby; it is not a lift-side hotel. Winter guests should check road conditions and the current shuttle or transport plan before assuming they can reach the ski area without a car. Summer visitors can use the same location for valley walks, cycling and access to cultural sites in Ordino.

The hotel’s 50 rooms are described by the operator as exterior rooms with views toward the surrounding mountains. Standard rooms accommodate two, three or four people, and suites add a separate living area or seating space. Room amenities include a small refrigerator, television and private shower; suites may include coffee and tea facilities, a minibar and extra sitting space. The hotel does not offer full in-room kitchens, so the property should not be confused with a self-catering apartment. Ask which category is being reserved, since views and layout vary, and confirm any family bed arrangement before choosing based only on the general room description.

Restaurant service has clearly published daily meal windows. The official restaurant page lists breakfast from 07:30 to 10:30 and dinner from 20:00 to 23:00. It also describes regional and international dishes, seasonal daily specials, vegetarian options and accommodation for some dietary requirements. The bar opens from 11:00 to midnight, while the room-service bar menu is listed from 11:00 to 01:00. These are separate offerings: the long room-service window does not mean the dining room serves full restaurant meals until one in the morning. Reservations are recommended in busy periods, and guests arriving late should check whether dinner can still be served or whether room service is more appropriate.

Wellness facilities are a major part of the hotel identity. The operator describes a spa with massage cabins, a jacuzzi, Turkish bath and an outdoor Nordic tub. Google Hotels separately lists a hot tub and sauna but no swimming pool; that distinction matters because the hotel’s water facilities are not a conventional pool. The operator’s room page says spa access is an additional charge, and Booking information for the property likewise notes a fee and age restrictions. Public pages reviewed did not give a dependable daily spa opening schedule. Ask about the current price, booking slot, minimum age, access duration and whether children may enter before treating the spa as available throughout a stay.

Arrival and departure terms also vary by platform. Booking.com lists check-in from 15:00 until midnight and checkout between 07:00 and 10:00. Google Hotels lists check-in at 15:00 and checkout at 11:00; Expedia also gives checkout at 11:00. The operator promotes a free late checkout for direct reservations, subject to its booking terms. These differences should be resolved from the reservation confirmation, particularly for guests who need an early start or are booking a direct rate. Google indicates a 24-hour front desk, but that does not guarantee the restaurant, spa or room-service menu is available all night.

Food and activity planning are straightforward when the published windows fit the day. Breakfast begins early enough for many hikes and ski days, but guests leaving before 07:30 should ask about a packed option. Dinner starts at 20:00, later than some early-evening dining schedules, while bar service begins at 11:00. Guests using the spa after skiing should reserve enough time to change, travel and meet any slot restriction. The hotel partners with Ordino Arcalís for ski instruction, equipment advice and special experiences, including early-morning skiing and meals on the mountain; these are optional arrangements, not automatic hotel facilities or a guaranteed daily shuttle. Confirm each package and transfer before purchase.

Mu Hotel & Spa is a strong fit for travellers who want a full-service base in the Ordino valley with an on-site restaurant and bookable wellness facilities. It is less suitable for anyone expecting immediate lift access, included spa entry or a self-contained kitchen. The most useful checks before booking are the exact room layout, parking cost, spa price and age rule, and which check-out time applies to the chosen rate. Then plan transport to Ordino-Arcalís or the trailhead independently. With those practical details clear, the hotel can support a stay built around the northern valleys while keeping meals and wellness close at hand.
