Apartaments Shusski is a three-star self-catering property on Avinguda de François Mitterrand 83 in Encamp, around 30 metres from the Funicamp cable-car station according to its current operator. The building is designed for visitors who want a private kitchen and living area while staying close to the gondola that links Encamp with Grandvalira. The current brand is Apartaments Shusski by Nexta; older property material may show the shorter Apartaments Shusski name. Its strongest advantage is practical rather than secluded: guests can keep their own food and daily rhythm, then walk a very short distance to the mountain transport in winter.

The apartments combine a separate bedroom with a living-dining area and sofa bed, a kitchen, bathroom and balcony. The operator describes the apartment as equipped, with heating, free Wi-Fi, television, minibar and a safe; bed linen, towels and bathroom amenities are included. A separate sleeping room gives couples or small families a different layout from a standard hotel room, while the sofa bed lets the living space serve an additional guest. Exact capacity, bedding configuration and accessible features should be checked for the specific unit, since the public page does not establish that every apartment has identical furniture or step-free access.

The position beside Funicamp shapes the stay. In winter the cable car provides the main uplift from the town to Grandvalira, so ski days can begin without driving to a higher resort village. Shusski offers ski storage and can arrange ski passes and equipment rental; availability, deposit conditions and opening dates should be confirmed for the booking. The lift itself has its own operating calendar, weather limits and queues, none of which are controlled by the apartments. In summer, the nearby station and the valley road make Encamp a launch point for walking and cycling, but the accommodation is still in town, not on a remote trail or above the tree line.

Reception and key collection require attention because the schedule is split into two daily periods. The current Nexta page lists staff/key handover from 09:00 to 12:30 and 15:45 to 20:15. Check-in begins at 16:00, and checkout is by 11:00. Guests arriving outside the key-collection windows should contact the property in advance to arrange handover; do not assume that the building's guest access means a late arrival can collect a key without prior arrangements. Booking.com lists a narrower check-in range of 16:00–20:00 and asks guests to provide their arrival time, consistent with the operator's evening cutoff.

The property has a seasonal pattern. The current operator states that apartment cleaning is weekly for stays longer than seven nights and describes La Terrasseta as an on-site restaurant. The older Shusski-branded FAQ says winter cleaning is daily and gives an earlier restaurant schedule, but this does not match the more recent Nexta material; rely on the current page or contact the property rather than assuming daily housekeeping. Nexta publishes breakfast 07:45–10:15, set-menu dinner 19:30–22:00 and café/bar 07:45–22:30, with closure dates listed as 8–19 April 2026 and 3–8 November. Those specific dates are seasonal and can be revised. Outside the winter service period, older operator FAQs state that restaurant and bar close, so check whether meals are available during the exact stay.

The wellness area offers a jacuzzi and Turkish bath from 12:00 to 20:30, but access carries an additional charge and requires advance reservation. It is not an unrestricted pool included automatically in every room rate. Parking is paid and subject to availability; the current Nexta page lists €18 per day. Earlier Shusski material gives a lower summer rate, while the newer page does not clearly preserve that seasonal price distinction. Confirm both availability and cost before driving, especially around ski changeover periods. The operator also lists an electric-car charging point, subject to availability, and does not accept pets.

Encamp offers useful alternatives if a guest wants a day away from the ski lift. The parish has a historic centre, the church of Sant Miquel de la Mosquera and the National Automobile Museum. Shops and restaurants are spread through town, and the wider capital area is accessible by road or local transport. For drivers skiing Grandvalira, the resort describes municipal car parks and a Funibus connection to Funicamp under its own conditions; these public options are separate from Shusski's limited paid parking. Check the current parking and bus rules rather than treating the hotel as a guaranteed parking pass.

The accommodation's practical trade-off is between apartment independence and hotel-style service. Having a kitchen can reduce dependence on restaurant hours, but guests should check what cooking equipment and supplies are in their booked unit. Reception is not continuously staffed: the midday break and 20:15 close matter for arrivals, while cleaning frequency depends on the stay and season. Breakfast and dinner are convenient when La Terrasseta is open, but the published closure dates and seasonal pattern mean they should not be the sole meal plan. Those details are easy to manage if arranged before arrival and easy to miss if the property is booked like a conventional 24-hour hotel.

Apartaments Shusski suits skiers, families and small groups who want a kitchen, a separate bedroom and immediate proximity to Funicamp. It can also work for an active summer stay based in Encamp, provided visitors confirm which seasonal facilities are operating. Before booking, check the apartment's capacity and accessibility, key-collection arrangement, restaurant dates, parking and wellness reservation. With those points settled, Shusski offers a compact town base where self-catering space and a direct mountain connection sit unusually close together.
