It suits travelers who want to turn the cable-car ride into a half-day mountain outing rather than simply ride up and down. The key limitation is logistical: the restaurant follows the Dajti Ekspres operating pattern, closes on Tuesdays under the regular schedule, and most visitors reach it through a cable-car system that does not permit wheelchairs.

The restaurant sits at the front of the upper complex, so it is one of the first hospitality facilities encountered after leaving the cable car. Dajti Ekspres describes the building as log-cabin inspired, with an indoor dining room, an outdoor terrace and a viewing platform on the mountain edge. The terrace is especially appealing in settled weather, while the indoor space makes the restaurant usable when sun or temperature makes outdoor seating less comfortable. Families have another practical reason to consider it: the operator notes a children's play area below the terrace seating.

Food is described by the operator in broad terms as traditional cuisine accompanied by wine. That is enough to establish the restaurant's direction, but not a reason to invent a fixed list of Albanian dishes or prices. Menus can change with supply, season and events, and the current Dajti Ekspres site no longer publishes a dependable restaurant tariff. Treat the meal as a separate restaurant purchase and ask for the current menu on arrival. The official FAQ explicitly says there is no cable-car package that includes a restaurant meal, so the transport ticket and the food bill should be budgeted separately.

Getting there is part of the experience. The lower Dajti Ekspres station is in Linzë on Tirana's eastern edge. The operator recommends the blue Qendër–Porcelan bus from near the Clock Tower and Skanderbeg Square; it lists a 20–30 minute ride from the center, a 40 lek one-way fare and a short uphill walk from the last stop to the cable-car station. Traffic can change the journey time. Taxis are another option, and free parking is available at the lower station, although the car park can fill during snow or special events.

The cable ride itself takes about 15 minutes according to the official FAQ. That makes Ballkoni Dajtit accessible without a long mountain hike, but travelers should still plan around the cable schedule rather than the restaurant alone. The cable car currently runs Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 09:00 to 18:30, and Saturday and Sunday to 19:00; Tuesday is the regular day off unless it falls on a public holiday. Restaurant hours are shorter, so leave enough margin to eat without rushing for the last descent.

Ballkoni Dajtit currently opens Monday and Wednesday through Friday from 11:00 to 17:30, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00, and closes Tuesday. Weather matters even when the complex is operating. Clouds can erase the long views that make the location distinctive, and wind or rain can reduce the value of the terrace. On a clear day, arriving before the late-afternoon return rush gives more flexibility for lunch, photographs and a short walk around the upper area. During holidays or special events, check Dajti Ekspres social channels for changes before leaving the city.

The cost of reaching the restaurant is variable because the operator asks visitors to obtain current cable-car prices at the lower station or by contacting Dajti Ekspres. Tickets are sold only at the lower station, and queues are possible during busy periods. This means a visitor cannot responsibly plan the outing around an old screenshot of a fare. Restaurant charges are separate, and private events can also affect the atmosphere. The venue accommodates events for groups up to 200, so a normal lunch can feel different on a day when part of the space is reserved.

Accessibility needs careful explanation. Dajti Ekspres explicitly states that wheelchairs are not permitted on the cable car, so the normal visitor route to Ballkoni Dajtit is not wheelchair accessible. The restaurant is also reachable in the wider mountain area by road, but the sources reviewed do not establish a step-free road-to-table route, accessible toilets or parking arrangements at the restaurant itself. Travelers with mobility requirements should contact the operator directly and ask about a road-based arrival rather than assuming the cable car can be used.

Allow roughly one to two hours for the meal itself and about three to five hours for the complete excursion from central Tirana once transfers, the cable ride and time at the summit are included. Visitors interested in the wider landscape can combine the stop with time in Dajti National Park or one of the upper-complex activities, but should avoid overloading the day if they also have fixed evening plans in the city.
