The Vietnam Military History Museum, founded on July 17, 1956, is one of Vietnam’s seven national museums. It covers 12,800 square meters. It is located in the heart of Hanoi, across from Lenin Park and close to the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The Flag Tower of Hanoi is located on the grounds of the museum.

The museum comprises of numerous structures. Periods of Vietnamese military history are exhibited in various buildings on the grounds. In addition, the Flag Tower of Hanoi is contained within the complex. The first two levels of the tower are accessible to visitors, however the spire is inaccessible.

During the First and Second Indochina Wars, the museum also displays decommissioned, captured, or destroyed military equipment and vehicles used by the French, the Viet Minh, North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and the United States. The name “The Garden of Toys” has been given to this exhibit, which is situated immediately next to the Hanoi Flag Tower. How to get there

Due to the museum’s central location in Hanoi (Dien Bien Phu street, Ba Dinh district), it will be extremely easy for you to reach it by public bus number 34 from Trang Tien street, by taxi, or for the greatest experience, by private car/van with an expert guide.
