Description

In addition to being a historical figure, Tran Hung Dao is regarded by the Vietnamese as a national military hero. In addition to leading the Dat Viet troops that three times routed Mongol forces in the 13th century, the leader also penned multiple treatises on battle. Hung Dao is honored by a large statue in Nha Trang’s beachfront avenue, where he stands with a solemn expression and points to the horizon.

On the 700th anniversary of Hung Dao Vuong Tran Quoc Tuan’s passing, the memorial was erected in 2000.

The statue of Tran Hung Dao is made of pure copper and weighs up to 21 tons. Its height is up to 10.22 meters, and it is set on a relatively high platform that is 6.5 meters high, giving it a very regal appearance.
