Description
Saigon Center or Takashimaya Ho Chi Minh City obtains valuable real estate on two of Ho Chi Minh City’s busiest thoroughfares: Le Loi and Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street. It is a complex building with separate zones for retail malls, restaurants, offices, and luxury residences. Saigon Center was constructed in two parts, the last of which was finished in 2017. While Keppel Land Ltd, a Singaporean company, is the investor in this development, practically all of the retailers in Saigon Centers are owned by Takashimaya, a Japanese firm.
The first tower of Saigon Center’s Phase 1 was completed in 1996. At the time of its inauguration, the 25-story, 106-meter-tall tower 1 of Saigon Center was the highest building in Vietnam, surpassing all preceding structures.
In 2011, building began on Phase 2 of Saigon Center, a 43-story skyscraper with a 6-story retail podium. The Takashimaya Company opened the Saigon Center retail mall to the public on July 30, 2016, but the second tower of Saigon Center was not finished until 2017. With 43 storeys and a height of 193.7 meters, Tower 2 of Saigon Center was the fourth highest skyscraper in Vietnam at the time.
Since its opening, Saigon Center has become one of the most busy and opulent shopping malls in Ho Chi Minh City, drawing not only the rich but also a large number of young people who wish to experience a lavish Saigon. According to many people, this retail center’s outer great architecture and inside combination of lavish furnishings and green trees make it appear to be another Takashimaya Singaporean Shopping Center, a famous shopping mall in Singapore.
Due to Saigon Center’s position in the busiest region in the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, it is accessible via bus, taxi, or motorbike. In approximately 45 minutes, you can take a cab or bus number 109 from Tan Son Nhat International Airport to Saigon Center. Additionally, you may use buses 04, 18, 53, 56, 93, 123, and 152 to get to various locations in Ho Chi Minh City. The cost of a bus ticket is around 10,000 VND less than that of a cab.
This shopping center is accessible from three sides because to its advantageous location: Le Loi Street, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street, and Pasteur Street.
