Crescent Lake Park
Description
Crescent Lake Park (Ho Ban Nguyet in Vietnamese) is one of Ho Chi Minh City’s most beautiful and appealing parks. Crescent Lake, located within the park, provides the inspiration for the park’s name. The building of Crescent Lake and the Phu My Hung New Urban Area occurred around the end of the 20th century. Not until 2010 did Crescent Lake Park become a tourist draw due to the existence of Starlight Bridge, which was inspired by the beautiful mix of water and light and was developed by a Chinese investment firm.
As a prominent feature of Phu My Hung, the surrounding region of Crescent Lake Park is comprised of several modern structures around the lake’s arc, with a 10 hectare area fashioned like Singapore Bay. Starlight Bridge, the first pedestrian bridge in Vietnam, connects the two halves of this residential neighborhood across Crescent Lake. Along the curve of the lake, low-rise buildings are put in front and high-rise buildings are positioned in the back, which helps to take advantage of the magnificent view of this area.
The project of Crescent Lake and the surrounding region was developed by 25 architects from 13 nations and carried out by 6 construction companies. It is regarded as the “social heart” of the South Saigon Urban Area, guaranteeing its cohesion and peace. In addition, Crescent Lake Park is a site for hosting exciting events on special occasions due to its expansive amenities and breathtaking surroundings.
Unlike other parks in Ho Chi Minh City, Crescent Lake Park is accessible to the public during the whole day. The finest times to visit Crescent Lake Park are early in the morning, late in the afternoon, and in the evening, when you may observe the beautiful sunrise and sunset, as well as the park’s sparkling lights.
After a long day of work in Ho Chi Minh City, it might be difficult to locate a peaceful location to take a stroll, but Crescent Lake Park appears to be a popular choice among many people, particularly the young. Experiences that can only be had in Crescent Lake Park include taking a stroll around the lake, appreciating the nighttime air, sitting on a bench by the lake to discover inner peace, and letting go of all your problems and sorrows. In addition, on the occasions of New Year’s, Mid-Autumn Festival, and Christmas, the ground of Crescent Lake Park is illuminated with twinkling lights to encourage locals and tourists to attend and snap lovely photographs.
The 154-meter-long and 3-meter-wide Starlight Bridge is the most distinctive aspect of Crescent Lake Park. The surface of the bridge is linked with the little light bulbs, which produces a sense as if you are walking on a starry gorgeous sky. On a lovely night, it is quite romantic to stroll around Starlight Bridge with one’s beloved while feeling the gentle breeze in one’s hair. Crescent Lake and Starlight Bridge is such a lovely sight produced by hundreds of multi-colored lights at night. Looking down from the bridge, you can see the vast expanse of Crescent Lake as well as the awe-inspiring image of water gushing from the bridge while rainbow-colored lights illuminate it.
The two bridgeheads of Starlight Bridge are two enormous squares, one representing the Sun and the other the Moon. The squares have verdant lawns, thick tree lines, and benches surrounding lotus ponds for relaxation. The expansive size of the two squares makes them a perfect location for morning and afternoon exercise for local inhabitants. In Crescent Lake Park, you may also picnic, camp overnight, and participate in fun team building activities with your group. The weekend you spent in Ho Chi Minh City was such a fantastic experience.
