Activities & Things to do in Phu Quoc
In addition to bathing on its stunning beaches, Phu Quoc offers visitors the chance to see Buddhist shrines, historical locations, the national park, and fishing towns. Despite the development of contemporary amenities, upscale resorts and hotels, and foreign dining establishments, travelers may still delight in a variety of sightseeing opportunities while traveling.
You will like diving in Phu Quoc since it is inexpensive and has a wide variety of marine life. Anyone interested in joining should visit the diving shop, which has been awarding worldwide certifications for the past 15 years. Beginners should dive in the north of the island since it is not too deep there and there are many corals and a beautiful environment. Many locations in the south are better suited for experienced divers, and the depths can go as deep as 40 meters.
Fans of diving and snorkeling could visit Turtle Island to have a chance to observe representatives of over 100 tropical fish species. Do you have a pet? Visit Vinpearl Safari after that. This location has a distinct personality. Visitors to Vinpearl Safari get the chance to ride through the habitats of wild animals and view them in large aviaries at the zoo. You only need one ticket for the safari and zoo; there are no further fees. A theme park called Vinperl Land is next to Vinpearl Safari, where you may explore the typical rides, an aqua park, and a dolphinarium. In addition, there is an oceanarium, bowling alley, and ice skating rink here.
In recent years, wakeboarding has grown in popularity in Phu Quoc. Large villages on the island have equipment for hire. Also suitable conditions exist for wakeboarding and water skiing. You may rent a catamaran, a jet ski, or a speedboat if you so want. If you want to go deep-sea fishing, the letter will be very helpful. But you can also catch a lot of regional fish from the coast.
While traveling the nearby rural roads, you may see the island’s natural beauty. For this, a motorcycle or bicycle are ideal. Just keep in mind that the traffic laws are only suggestions for the locals. Don’t be shocked if you see a van moving forward quickly while signaling. You may also choose to rent a vehicle. For that, you will want an international driver’s license. The police rarely stop foreigners, even though you will need it to hire a motorcycle as well.
Diving and snorkeling
Dive sites in Phu Quoc are located in two different places. either in the north on the island’s western side or in the south near the An Thoi Islands.
There are three primary dive sites in the north, all of which have a maximum depth of 10 meters. They are excellent for beginners in particular. Sites are surrounded by bizarre rock formations and coral, which offer refuge to many different fish species and nudibranch species.
Around a collection of 13 islands in the south, there are up to 20 different dive sites with depths ranging from 10 to 40 meters. Since most of the islands are surrounded by coral and are gradually becoming marine protected areas, your chances of spotting more and larger fish as well as numerous nudibranches are slightly improved.
Since the southern location is less sheltered than the northern one, you may experience a bumpy boat trip and moderate to strong currents.
In the morning, snorkeling trips pick you up from your accommodation and transport you to the southern islands. The boat ride, snorkeling equipment, lunch, and transportation are often included. Expect to see very little coral and fish underneath. Still, it’s a pleasant way to pass the day.
