Beaches in Nha Trang
In spite of the intensity of rivalry, the picturesque city Nha Trang remains a top attraction in Vietnam because of its beaches. It is just big enough to be loud and small enough to keep its relaxed feel. On one side are restaurants, hotels, and cafes while on the other side are some interesting modern sculptures which border this swathe of yellow sand that stretches for six kilometers long. You have an option to check out various watersports providers and also take scuba-diving lessons; paperback books, fresh pineapples and massages among others can be bought from vendors along the way. There are also many local companies offering popular day tours from Nha Trang to nearby islands where they will take you trekking, snorkeling and you will eat seafood in the middle of your trip.
A variety of sightseeing and recreational opportunities are provided by the scattered Nha Trang’s beaches throughout this beach resort city for tourists who want to sun bathe during their holiday. Situated along white sandy beaches, Nha Trang is referred as the Riviera of the South China Sea with a 6-km stretch of stunning coastline with a wide range of restaurants & lodging options.
Different types of beach exist in Nha Trang. For example Tran Phu Beach is pretty busy place perfect for those who want to live amongst it all while Bai Dai Beach on other hand is secluded therefore excellent for people looking to get away once in a while from overcrowded townships like these ones above mentioned even if some lie far from Nha Trang City itself.
Nha Trang Beach
The main beach of the city stretches for about 6 km and is bordered by wonderful, beautifully paved walkways, gardens, landmarks and recreation centers. It lies to the south of Cai River. The beach itself does not lack a wide expanse of sand and calm seas that are so suitable for swimming. But caution is necessary as water depth can quickly increase. Nha Trang’s beach may not be one Southeast Asia’s most beautiful ones, but it could still provide some of the best urban beach experiences there. At times, you will find many female sellers walking on the sand while peddling their fruits or hot steamed seafood. Vietnamese people often go to the beach during sunrise and sunset whereas lots of Russians converge at midday when rays are at their peak in intensity. Always make sure that you get your timing right when you decide to go out on yearly excursions to this place. The weather is bad when it is cloudy with choppy waves hence may disappoint visitors who want to have fun in water at such times. Then without warning, a section of ordinary brown sandy waves and empty chairs with no one on them changes the scene completely.
Bai Doung Beach
Bai Doung Beach (1.5 km N on Tran Phu St over the main bridge). It is smaller as you go north along Cai river than it is in the tourist part of town. As much as it may be an attractive beach, sewerage channels spoil a little bit about its beauty. The popularity of the place with local tourists means that it can be empty at midday. There are several seafood restaurants serving Vietnamese customers around here, close to the sea shore. If you want to come by bus, use bus number four .
Hon Chong
Hon Chong (1.5km North of Tran Phu St, over the main bridge). Beautifully formed cliffs in the sea. The arrangement and carving of rocks are what fascinates me; does it have any story behind that such as legends? If you climb up these rocks, you will see a great view of beautiful Bai Doung Beach and its surroundings including islands. Public bus number four is an alternative to get there. It costs 22,000 dong as an entrance fee which also includes dancing performances. It has many coffee shops and seafood restaurants along the beach creating peaceful feelings. About 300 meters south of Hon Chong lies Hon Do (Red Island), with a Buddhist monastery situated on top of a hill while Hon Rua (Tortoise Island) is in the northeast direction from here.
Tran Phu Beach
The beach is the most popular place in Nha Trang because it can be reached by everyone on foot, regardless of where they live. It also lies near the famous Tran Phu Street which is one of the most delightful sea promenades strewn with high-class and middle-priced hotels, hostels, souvenir shops, museums and restaurants that specialize in seafood. The nightlife of Tran Phu Beach is quite popular. The Sailing Club Nha Trang and Skylight Nha Trang sky deck and rooftop beach club come highly recommended. Surfing, snorkeling, cycling tours, spa treatments, meditation and yoga are all available at Tran Phu Beach.
Bai Tru Beach
On Hon Tre Island, there is VinWonders Nha Trang Vinpearl Land entertainment which is close to Bai Tru Beach. There are several ways to get to the island: a 3,320-meter long sea-crossing aerial cableway that spans between the island and the Nha Trang mainland, ferry, taxi canoe, high-speed boat, car or motorcycle. The amusement park is the main attraction on the island with an amphitheatre, mall and a lot of games. For one day on Bai Tru Beach though you will need to pay for entrance; included in this fee are speedboat trips to and from there, buffet lunch and access to swimming pool as well as beach.
Bai Dai Beach
A day out on Bai Dai Beach in Nha Trang is a great way to find peace and quiet with a hippy like atmosphere. It is located twenty-eight kilometers south of the city. Though accommodation and sightseeing opportunities are few, you can pass an afternoon playing volleyball, surfing or swimming in the dazzling clean sea water at this coast. Furthermore, there are plenty of seafood restaurants on Bai Dai Beach. These range from down-to-earth shacks with Bob Marley pictures and wooden furniture where hamburgers, fruit juice and draft beer are served till late evening to them serving western food throughout the day.
Nhu Tien Beach
A long stretch of white sand, palm trees, a clear sea and mountains make up the privately owned beach. Many people choose it for a quiet day at the beach in Nha Trang as it is only twenty minutes away from the city by free shuttle. A golf course, spa center, tennis court and 5 on-site restaurants including broiled fish, Vietnamese, Asian and western cuisine are all found within Diamond Bay Resort & Spa. Some other activities that can be done are yoga, kayaking, jet skiing snorkeling and banana boating. In addition to this hotel complex there are also 15 luxury beach resorts located in Diamond Bay City as well as seaside houses for sale or lease, marinas, international schools , luxury shopping malls and amusement parks on Nhu Tien Beach.
Doc Let Beach
Doc Let Beach (Around 50 km N of Nha Trang). Doc let is beautiful long sandy beach with clean and shallow waters situated in the north of Ninh Ha, Nha Trang. In spite of a low rise in water surface, swimming is ideal here. Local fishing families sell seafood for cheap prices and will cook it for you on the beach. The southern end of the beach has a fishing village called Ninh Ha while the northern part has either some affordable resorts or virgin land being developed. The best parts are those closest to the resorts; unfortunately others not far away have been littered with waste by locals. You can rent a chair and use toilets/showers at White Sand Doclet or Paradise resorts for a fee. In order to get to Doc Let beach from Nha Trang one can take bus #3, motorbike or some day trips organized specifically for Russian tourists. Additional charges may apply if you are staying in one of these hotels for transfer services.
Long Beach (Bai Dai beach)
Bai Dai is in the middle of a furious construction that sees expensive beachfront resorts mushrooming every now and then, and it is located in Cam Lâm and Cam Ranh districts twenty kilometers to the south of Nha Trang. Therefore, if you walk far enough away from other people, you will end up by yourself. The waves there are blue and beautiful while its sand silky; thus it is pleasant to go along it because it is not as steep as Nha Trang beach. However, places which don’t have resorts as their background can be filled with trash. Many of the beach shacks having deck chairs also sell seafood. It would be most fitting to travel by motorcycle.
Jungle Beach
Jungle Beach is visited by many backpackers who love to go there. This place is an excellent spot for a restful holiday due to its far off location, basic accommodation, dense forests and adorable fishing hamlets. It’s the best place for hiking in the jungle where you can also see wild monkeys, slow lorises, eagles and douc langurs as well which are located sixty kilometers north of Nha Trang along Jungle Beach. If you prefer staying close to the shore, then there are several water-based activities like snorkelling, swimming surfing and beach volleyball that you can indulge in.
