Breeze Sky Bar is the open-air restaurant and bar on the fifth floor of Hotel Majestic Saigon at 1 Dong Khoi, facing the Saigon River in central Ho Chi Minh City. Despite the “Sky Bar” name, this is not a skyscraper-height cocktail lounge. Its advantage is a lower, closer relationship with the river and the historic Dong Khoi waterfront, combined with a full hotel food-and-drink operation. It suits travelers who want a meal or relaxed drinks with a river view more than visitors seeking the highest possible panorama or a late-night dance scene.

The terrace perspective is the core of the experience. From the fifth floor, guests look across river traffic and the developing Thu Thiem skyline while remaining close enough to the street to feel part of central Saigon. Sunset is a natural time to visit, but the bar also functions for breakfast and daytime hotel dining. Because it is attached to a major hotel, the atmosphere is more dining-led and multi-generational than many dedicated nightlife rooftops. Families, couples and hotel guests can use the space without needing to enter a club environment.

Food is substantial. The current Hotel Majestic page advertises an à la carte menu, drinks list and wine list, and it promotes a Friday-and-Saturday BBQ and seafood buffet. The hotel currently lists that buffet from 18:00 to 22:00 at VND 1,200,000++ per person, including free-flow house wine, beer and soft drinks. Discounts are advertised for children under 1.4 meters, guests whose birthday falls on the dining date and in-house hotel guests. These prices and promotions are time-sensitive, so confirm them when booking rather than treating them as fixed long-term tariffs.

The beverage program is conventional hotel-bar territory rather than experimental mixology. The current published drinks list includes martinis, gin and tonic, rum and cola, whisky and cola, an espresso martini and house-style mixed drinks, alongside wine and other beverages. The attraction is the combination of familiar drinks, hotel service and river outlook. Visitors specifically hunting for cutting-edge craft cocktails may prefer a specialist bar elsewhere; those who want a reliable drink with a view before or after dinner may appreciate the simpler approach.

Opening hours are the one area where current sources conflict materially. Hotel Majestic’s own 2026 Breeze page states that the venue is open 24/7, while the current map/business listing shows approximately 06:00–22:00 daily. The hotel page also ties its main weekend buffet to the 18:00–22:00 period. Because a hotel restaurant can serve different menus or guest services at different times, it would be unsafe to interpret “24/7” as meaning the complete public bar and dining offer is available around the clock. Anyone coming very early or late should call the hotel first.

The location is exceptionally convenient for central sightseeing. Hotel Majestic stands at the river end of Dong Khoi, near the Bach Dang waterfront and within the same broad central district as the Opera House, Nguyen Hue and other downtown landmarks. Most visitors staying in District 1 can reach it quickly by taxi, ride-hailing service or on foot from nearby riverfront hotels. The bar itself is on the hotel’s fifth floor. Current sources do not provide enough detail to certify full step-free accessibility throughout the terrace, so guests with specific mobility needs should confirm with the hotel.

Plan about 90 minutes for drinks and a light meal, or two hours or more for the weekend buffet. The lower rooftop height can actually be an advantage for people who dislike exposed skyscraper decks: the setting feels more like a classic hotel terrace than a vertiginous observation lounge. Weather still matters because the appeal is tied to the open-air river view. During heavy rain or very humid conditions, indoor or sheltered seating may change the experience, and table location can matter as much as time of day.

Breeze Sky Bar is strongest when chosen for what it actually is: a historic riverfront hotel terrace with food, familiar drinks and a close view of the Saigon River. It is not the place to chase the city’s highest viewpoint, and it does not need to be. A sunset drink followed by dinner, or the scheduled Friday or Saturday seafood buffet, gives the venue a clear purpose. Check the hotel directly for the day’s service hours, buffet availability and any promotion before making a special journey, particularly because the official 24/7 claim and public map hours do not currently match.

The hotel setting also changes the cost logic. Breeze is not designed as a cheap standalone beer stop, and taxes and service charges can be added to promoted food prices. Guests deciding between this venue and a higher rooftop should compare what they value: Breeze offers easier access to the riverfront and a fuller dining operation, while taller lounges offer a more dramatic vertical panorama. For many visitors, especially at sunset, the river traffic and heritage-hotel atmosphere are the stronger reasons to choose it.
