Sun Plaza Ancora in Hanoi, Vietnam

Sun Plaza Ancora at 3 Luong Yen remains an active mixed-use commercial center with retail, education and services inside the Sun Grand City Ancora complex.

Sun Plaza Ancora is a five-level commercial podium at the Sun Grand City Ancora complex, 3 Luong Yen in Hanoi’s Hai Ba Trung area. It opened in 2019 as the first Sun Plaza-branded shopping center and remains an active mixed-use commercial address in 2026. Current evidence is especially useful because the tenant mix has evolved since launch: Nha Xinh still identifies its Luong Yen showroom on the second floor of Sun Plaza Ancora, while MindX lists a current center at the same building. These live tenants confirm that the property should not be treated as a closed or purely historical mall.

The original concept combined everyday retail, restaurants, entertainment, education and services in the podium below the residential towers. Opening-era material documented a cinema, supermarket, cafés, restaurants, children’s facilities and coworking. Those historical lists explain the design intent, but they should not be read as a guaranteed 2026 directory. Shopping centers change tenants constantly, and the strongest current evidence points to a more mixed commercial ecosystem that includes interiors, education and workspace functions alongside retail and services.

Location is one of the center’s clearest strengths. Luong Yen lies southeast of the historic core and close to the Red River side of Hai Ba Trung. The complex has frontage toward both Luong Yen and Nguyen Khoai, which helps road access but also means visitors should use the exact building name in navigation rather than assuming one entrance. It is more convenient for residents and travelers based in Hai Ba Trung than for someone who only wants a landmark near Hoan Kiem Lake.

The shopping experience is different from a giant destination mall. Sun Plaza Ancora is integrated into a high-end residential complex, so it works best as a neighborhood commercial center with services distributed through a relatively compact podium. Nha Xinh’s current 800-square-metre furniture showroom gives one example of the present-day offer: larger specialty retailers can occupy substantial floor area, and the mall is not limited to fashion or souvenirs. Current MindX activity also shows educational use, broadening the reasons people enter the building beyond conventional shopping.

Visitors should plan around a specific purpose rather than expect every launch-era brand to remain. If you are coming for furniture, a class, coworking, dining or another named business, verify that tenant directly. Current Nha Xinh information gives its own hours as 09:00–20:00 daily, but those are tenant hours, not a verified mall-wide schedule. No reliable current source checked in this research cycle published a single operating timetable for the entire Sun Plaza Ancora podium, so the sidebar correctly keeps general hours unconfirmed rather than borrowing one shop’s timetable.

The building’s mixed residential and commercial nature also shapes the atmosphere. It is not a tourist market and does not depend on sightseeing traffic. The most useful audience is people who need a service, want a quieter shopping stop, or are already in the Luong Yen–Nguyen Khoai area. Travelers expecting a dense concentration of international fashion brands may be better served by Hanoi’s larger destination malls; those looking for a practical commercial stop attached to a modern residential development may find Ancora more suitable.

Parking is available at the complex, and Nha Xinh specifically notes car parking for its showroom. The checked sources do not provide a full visitor-parking tariff, validated bus routes or a complete accessibility specification for the commercial podium. Rather than inventing those details, the safest advice is to use the current building address and contact the destination tenant when step-free access, parking height, loading access or another special requirement matters.

Sun Plaza Ancora’s original design emphasized a modern interior and views toward the Red River from the broader complex. Those architectural qualities still help distinguish the property, but they should not be oversold as a sightseeing attraction. A visitor who is not using a specific tenant can usually understand the retail floors in about an hour; someone combining a showroom appointment, class, meal or coworking session may spend several hours.

For migration purposes, the important conclusion is continuity. Sun Plaza Ancora remains a real commercial destination at 3 Luong Yen, with current businesses operating inside it, so the old Travel S Helper entity should be retained and refreshed rather than closed. At the same time, the page must avoid freezing its 2019 tenant list in place. The accurate 2026 presentation is a mixed-use commercial center whose exact tenant roster and individual business hours should be checked close to the visit.

A useful practical distinction is that Sun Plaza Ancora now behaves more like a mixed commercial podium than a conventional all-purpose regional mall. Current Nha Xinh and MindX activity confirms substantial non-fashion uses, while the original five-level plan explains why food, education, workspace and retail can coexist in one building. Visitors should therefore search by the exact tenant or service they need instead of relying on an old mall directory. That approach also reduces confusion with Sun Plaza Thuy Khue, another Sun Group commercial center in Hanoi with a similar name but a different address and tenant mix.
