It opened in July 2016 and remains an active retail property in 2026, with the owner still listing it as a core part of MIPEC’s retail-service business. Its location near the Long Biên Bridge gives it a very different setting from Hanoi’s western business-district malls: the complex sits close to the Red River and serves the Long Biên side of the city while remaining relatively near the Old Quarter.

The commercial center occupies the lower floors beneath two 35-storey residential towers. Current MIPEC material describes a mix of shopping, electronics, dining, entertainment, fitness and family services rather than a single anchor store. Named tenants and facilities include Pico electronics, Thăng Long Square, Amazing Town, Golden Gate restaurant brands, Galaxy Cinema and California Fitness & Yoga. The combination means the center works as a neighborhood leisure hub as much as a place to buy goods.

For visitors, the strongest reason to come is convenience if you are staying east of the Red River or already passing through Long Biên. Electronics, cinema, restaurants and fitness can be combined at one address, while residents of the attached towers have everyday services directly below. Travelers staying in Hoàn Kiếm may find larger or more polished malls closer to their itinerary, but Mipec Long Biên can still be useful for a movie, meal or practical shopping stop away from the densest tourist streets.

Current MIPEC information places the center at number 2 Long Biên II, Bồ Đề, Hanoi. Some older maps use Ngọc Lâm or slightly different ward descriptions for the same complex, so the safest navigation terms are “Mipec Long Biên” or “Mipec Riverside, 2 Long Biên II.” The shopping center is part of the larger Riverside development, and arriving at the residential towers does not mean you are at a different entity; the mall is the podium beneath them.

Visitors who need a confirmed step-free route, wheelchair-accessible toilets or special assistance should contact the center or relevant tenant before visiting. The surrounding riverfront and bridge area can involve busy roads, so pedestrians should use mapped entrances rather than assuming the shortest-looking route on a map is the most convenient one.

Mipec Long Biên’s tenant mix has changed over time, as happens in most urban malls. The important current fact is that MIPEC itself still lists the shopping center as operational and describes the retail-service offer. This distinguishes the property from older Hanoi commercial buildings that survive mainly as offices after their mall function fades. Here, cinema, restaurants, fitness and retail remain part of the current identity.

The center is not an essential tourist attraction, but it has a clear role in Hanoi’s everyday commercial geography. It can be a comfortable indoor stop near Long Biên, especially for families or travelers who need practical services on the east side of the city. Think of it as a mixed shopping-and-leisure podium beneath a residential complex: useful, active and broad in function, but more local in character than the city’s flagship destination malls.

The center’s history is also useful context for understanding its current layout. MIPEC opened the Long Biên shopping center in 2016 as part of the larger Mipec Riverside development, deliberately combining residential towers with a retail podium. Current company pages still present retail services as an active business area and list Mipec Long Biên as the company’s shopping-center asset. That continuity matters because some tenants named in older launch material have changed, but the commercial center itself has not been abandoned or converted entirely to offices.

That mixed-use model also creates steady local traffic from residents above the mall, which helps explain why food, fitness and everyday services are as important as conventional retail. Visitors should expect a local-use center rather than a purely tourist-facing destination.
