Hanoi Golf Club in Hanoi, Vietnam

Plan a full round at Hanoi Golf Club in Soc Son, with current 27-hole course information, daily hours, services, airport access and booking advice.

Hanoi Golf Club is a full golf facility in Minh Tri, Soc Son, north of central Hanoi and close to the Noi Bai airport corridor. It is a very different proposition from the city’s driving ranges: golfers come here for a proper multi-hour round, supported by caddies, carts, a restaurant, practice facilities and night golf. The club’s current Vietnamese website describes a 27-hole system across about 108 hectares, and gives daily operating hours from 05:30 to 22:00. It is best suited to travellers who want a dedicated golf day or who can combine a round with an airport-area itinerary; it is not a quick stop from the Old Quarter.

The club emphasizes its Japanese connection, describing itself as the first course in Vietnam built and managed by Japanese interests. Its setting near the foothills gives the property a parkland character rather than a coastal or urban-range feel. The current Vietnamese homepage presents 27 holes, while an English-language version of the same site has displayed a conflicting 36-hole figure. Because the Vietnamese page is the more internally consistent current source and other golf references also describe 27 holes, 27 is the figure used here. The inconsistency is worth noting because travellers may see both numbers in search results.

For a visiting golfer, the 27-hole arrangement creates more flexibility than a single 18-hole layout. Different nine-hole combinations can change the character of the day and may help the club manage member play, visitors and events. The official site does not promise which combination a particular visitor will receive, so the exact routing should be confirmed at booking. Players who care about a specific loop, tournament setup or number of holes should ask before paying rather than assume every 27-hole option is available at every time.

The supporting services are substantial. The operator lists reception, night golf, restaurant, caddie service, electric carts and a practice range. Night golf is particularly useful in Hanoi’s hot season because later tee times can avoid the strongest midday heat, though evening play should still be booked rather than assumed. The practice range lets visitors warm up before the round, and caddies can be especially valuable on an unfamiliar course where slopes, hazards and green speed are not obvious from the tee.

Current published hours are 05:30 to 22:00 every day. Those facility hours do not mean a golfer can start an 18-hole round at any point in the window. Tee times, daylight, night-lighting schedules, maintenance and competition days all shape actual availability. The club’s website includes a booking phone and email, and advance reservation is strongly advisable for international visitors. If you are travelling in a group, provide player numbers and preferred time clearly and ask what is included in the quoted fee.

The location is one of Hanoi Golf Club’s main strategic advantages. The operator says the course is around 15 minutes from Noi Bai International Airport and about 40 minutes by car from central Hanoi, although real travel times depend on traffic. That makes it possible to place a round at the beginning or end of a Hanoi stay, but doing so on the same day as a flight still requires a large buffer. Golf rounds can run late, showers and meals add time, and Hanoi traffic is not predictable enough to plan a tight airport connection.

A standard visit should be treated as at least half a day. Arrive early for check-in and warm-up, allow normal 18-hole pace, and leave time for changing or food afterward. If playing 27 holes, the day becomes substantially longer. Summer brings heat, humidity and thunderstorms, while northern winter can be cool in the morning. Clothing should therefore be chosen for both golf etiquette and weather, with rain protection useful during wetter periods. The club’s night-play option can help, but it should not be treated as a guarantee against weather disruption.

Prices are volatile. The official service page has published green-fee tables, but rates vary by weekday, weekend, membership relationship and time of day, and those tables can become outdated faster than the rest of a destination guide. Travellers should request the current visitor rate for the exact date and confirm whether caddie, cart, taxes or other mandatory items are included. This is particularly important when comparing Hanoi courses, because a headline green fee may not represent the final amount paid.

The course is in Soc Son rather than the urban core, so the most practical transport is a private car, hotel transfer or golf transfer. Ride-hailing can work for the outbound trip, but a pre-arranged return is safer if playing late. The official address is Minh Tri Commune/area, Soc Son, Hanoi. Exact administrative terminology may evolve after local-government reforms, but the course identity and Soc Son location are well established. Visitors should use the club’s own directions or confirmed map pin rather than a generic “Hanoi Golf” search, which can return other facilities.

Hanoi Golf Club is therefore a credible option for a full round close to the airport side of the capital. Its 27-hole parkland setup, Japanese management heritage, long operating day and night-golf capability distinguish it from smaller practice facilities. The practical recipe is straightforward: book ahead, verify the current course combination and fee, arrive early, and leave generous transport time. For golfers who want more than a range session without travelling deep into another province, it offers one of the more direct full-course experiences associated with Hanoi.
