Phuoc My Beach is the central public beach section along Vo Nguyen Giap just south of Pham Van Dong Street and East Sea Park, in today’s An Hai Ward. The name matters because the city restored “Phuoc My” as the local beach identity after the area had often been called Pham Van Dong Beach. Sunrise and early morning are particularly lively with local exercise and swimming.

Swimming is generally straightforward in suitable weather, and the shore has a gentle city-beach profile. Use designated swimming areas, obey flags and avoid assuming that the entire 600-metre stretch has identical supervision.

Some current guides say Phuoc My was formerly called Pham Van Dong Beach, while municipal service records show Pham Van Dong and Phuoc My as neighboring beach zones. Both statements can be true: local popular naming spread beyond strict administrative sections, while city management used more precise operating boundaries. Travelers do not need to solve the naming history to enjoy the beach, but they should use East Sea Park, Pham Van Dong Street and Vo Van Kiet as geographic reference points.

Transport is exceptionally easy. Phuoc My is only a few kilometres from the city centre and around seven kilometres from the airport. Taxi, ride-hailing, bicycle and walking from nearby hotels are practical. Current bus information has also connected the area through the East Sea Park/Vo Nguyen Giap corridor, though route numbers should be checked live rather than copied permanently.

Most visitors need one to three hours. Sunrise walks can be short, while swimmers may spend longer with breakfast or lunch nearby. The beach is open outdoor coastline rather than a gated attraction, but swimming after dark is not recommended simply because the promenade remains accessible.

Accessibility is stronger on Vo Nguyen Giap and East Sea Park paths than on the sand. Current visitor reviews mention toilets and easy restaurant access, but no universal wheelchair-to-water system was verified. Travelers with reduced mobility can still enjoy the promenade and sea view.

Phuoc My’s short length is useful rather than limiting: visitors can walk the whole section and continue seamlessly south toward My Khe or north toward East Sea Park. That continuity makes it one of the easiest beaches to experience without transport once you are staying in the coastal hotel district.

Phuoc My Beach is best treated as its own named section of Da Nang’s central public coast: immediately south of Pham Van Dong, immediately north of the broader My Khe zone, free to enter and very easy to reach. The key planning lesson is not to confuse naming overlap with an exact duplicate.

The municipal service boundary is especially helpful for route clarity because it gives travelers a practical landmark: Phuoc My begins south of Pham Van Dong Street and continues toward Vo Van Kiet.
