The beach is also within a protected natural area, which limits the kind of dense construction seen at some resort beaches. That natural setting is one of its strengths, but it means service levels vary and should not be assumed to match a private beach club.

Kitesurfing is a major part of the modern identity. Çeşme Municipality explicitly promotes Pırlanta as one of the peninsula’s important kitesurf centres because of strong, persistent wind and suitable shallow water.
