The monastery is situated on the banks of the Vladajska Reka River in Obradovtsi, a historic hamlet that is now a district of Sofia. From 1942 to 1945, a monastery church was erected, followed by residential structures and many smaller chapels. A spring with miraculous characteristics may be found in the chapel dedicated to St. Kosma and Damian.
Georgia Bogdanov painted the icons in the church. Mircho Radulov and Kosta Dinoev created the main altar. In the doorway, there is a miraculous icon showing the monastery’s patron saint, St. I shall pass.
According to mythology, the first monastery was established at this location in the 11th century. It was meant to be a vast monastery with several structures and 40 chapels. It was nearly totally devastated during the crusades and afterwards the Ottoman conquests. Only in 1927 were the foundations and walls discovered.
