Lovers Bridge

The pedestrian bridge in the city center near to the National Palace of Culture has no official name, but it has traditionally been referred to as The Bridge of Lovers. This is due to the fact that it was a popular location for young people in love to meet.

They are sitting over one of the city’s busiest intersections, taking in the hues of the sunset as it sets behind Vitosha Mountain. When there is an open air gallery, this bridge quickly becomes one of the tourist’s favorite sites. Above the intense traffic, there are wonderful photography exhibits and, on sometimes, festivals.

Whether you merely want to cross the street, appreciate some art, try to ignore rush hour by staring at the mountain, or came specifically for the busy street (which is highly appealing to certain people from the Province), here is the perfect location to do it. The mix of all of these diverse plug-ins adds to the uniqueness of the location.
