Temple and monument to the victims of communism’s oppression between 1944 and 1989 is located in the National Palace Of Culture Park. Over 7.500 innocent people died under this most ruthless of regimes. The Shrine of Bulgarian Martyrs was consecrated in 1999, and the names of the victims are etched on a black granite wall alongside the temple.
