This type of sport is known to the world by several names: Airsoft, Strikeball, Soft Air.

The name “strikeball-airsoft” was invented by Russian players and literally translated from English means “ball strike”, due to the problems with the speaking and ambiguity of the original English word “airsoft”, which means “soft air” or “soft pneumatics”. In Bulgaria, all three of its names are used.
