The Wiedersberger Horn sector is one of the largest and most diverse sectors in the Ski Resort Wildschönau. The Wiedersberger Horn sector offers 47 km of slopes, 7 lifts, and a convenient ski connection to the Schatzberg sector. The Wiedersberger Horn sector is situated on the southern side of the majestic 2,128 m Wiedersberger Horn mountain. From here, visitors can indulge in breathtaking panoramic views of the picturesque Alpbach valley, the majestic Zillertal Alps, and the awe-inspiring Rofan mountains. The Wiedersberger Horn sector is home to various attractions that cater to different interests. For children, there is the Lauserland, a fun park that promises an enjoyable time. Skiers can make use of the Ski Movie, a video recording system that captures their exciting moments on the slopes. Thrill-seekers can try the Alpbachtaler Lauser-Sauser, a thrilling zip line experience. Lastly, there is an observation tower and viewing platform that offers breathtaking views of the beautiful surrounding landscape.
The Wiedersberger Horn sector boasts a fascinating history that stretches all the way back to 1953, when the inaugural draglift was constructed on the mountain. The Wiedersberger Horn sector has experienced significant growth and development over time. It now provides skiers of all ages and skill levels with modern and comfortable facilities, a range of scenic slopes, and a wide array of services and activities. The Wiedersberger Horn sector was connected to the Schatzberg sector in 2012, resulting in the creation of the Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau. This expansion increased the ski area to 145 km of slopes and 47 lifts.

Ski Slopes and Trails

The slopes consist of a variety of difficulty levels, catering to skiers of different skill levels. The slopes provide breathtaking views of the Alpbach valley, the majestic Zillertal Alps, and the stunning Rofan mountains. The slopes are meticulously maintained and groomed, ensuring optimal conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Additionally, artificial snow is utilized when necessary to guarantee a seamless experience.
The slopes in the Wiedersberger Horn sector are conveniently served by 7 lifts, which consist of 1 gondola, 3 chairlifts, and 3 draglifts. The lifts are modern and comfortable, providing a fast and convenient way to access the slopes. The lifts are in operation from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day, except for the Gipfellift, which operates from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.
The slopes and lifts in the Wiedersberger Horn sector are split into two distinct areas: the upper area and the lower area. The upper area is situated above the Wiedersbergerhornbahn gondola station, encompassing the slopes and lifts atop the majestic Wiedersberger Horn mountain. The lower area is situated beneath the Wiedersbergerhornbahn gondola station, encompassing the slopes and lifts on the Pöglalm and the Pöglboden.
- Wiedersbergerhornbahn: This is a 10-person gondola that runs from the village of Alpbach to the top of the Wiedersberger Horn at 2,025 m. It is the main access to the sector, and it offers a comfortable and scenic ride. The gondola operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
- Hornbodenlift: This is a 4-person chairlift that runs from the top of the Wiedersberger Horn at 2,025 m to the Hornboden at 1,950 m. It is a short and easy lift, and it serves the blue slope 1, which is a wide and gentle slope, ideal for beginners and families. The chairlift operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
- Pöglbahn: This is a 4-person chairlift that runs from the top of the Wiedersberger Horn at 2,025 m to the Pöglalm at 1,900 m. It is a medium and fun lift, and it serves the red slope 2, which is a varied and challenging slope, suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers. The chairlift operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
- Hornlift 2000: This is a T-bar lift that runs from the Hornboden at 1,950 m to the Hornlift 2000 at 2,000 m. It is a long and steep lift, and it serves the black slope 3, which is a narrow and difficult slope, only for expert skiers. The lift operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
- Gipfellift: This is a T-bar lift that runs from the Gipfelhaus at 2,128 m to the Gipfellift at 2,150 m. It is a short and easy lift, and it serves the blue slope 4, which is a scenic and panoramic slope, with views of the surrounding mountains. The lift operates from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily.

It is a medium and fun lift, and it serves the red slope 5, which is a varied and challenging slope, suitable for intermediate and advanced skiers. - Pöglbodenlift: This is a T-bar lift that runs from the Pöglalm at 1,900 m to the Pöglboden at 1,850 m. It is a short and easy lift, and it serves the blue slope 6, which is a wide and gentle slope, ideal for beginners and families. The lift operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
The lower area of the Wiedersberger Horn sector is situated beneath the Wiedersbergerhornbahn gondola station, encompassing the slopes and lifts on the Pöglalm and the Pöglboden. The lower area features 12 km of slopes, 3 lifts, and a convenient ski connection to the Schatzberg sector. The slopes in the lower area consist mainly of red and blue runs, along with a few ski routes designed for advanced skiers. The slopes in the lower area provide stunning views of the Alpbach valley and the Pöglalm. The slopes in the lower area are also meticulously maintained and groomed, ensuring optimal conditions for skiing and snowboarding. Additionally, artificial snow is utilized when necessary to guarantee a seamless experience.

- Verbindungslift: This is a T-bar lift that runs from the Schatzberg at 1,900 m to the Wiedersberger Horn at 1,800 m. It is the alternative connection between the Wiedersberger Horn sector and the Schatzberg sector, and it offers a more scenic and adventurous ride. The lift operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
- Schönangeralmbahn: This is a 4-person gondola that runs from the village of Auffach to the Schönangeralm at 1,170 m. It is the access to the lower area of the Wiedersberger Horn sector, and it offers a comfortable and scenic ride. The gondola operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.
