Strandbad Strandperle at Wildsee in Seefeld

Strandperle occupies the accessible northern end of Wildsee close to Seefeld’s built-up centre. This location makes it very different from remote mountain swimming. Visitors can reach the water after a short walk from the station or pedestrian area and still see forest and mountain scenery across the lake.

Wildsee is a natural lake, not a reservoir created for bathing. Moorland and wetland habitats surround parts of the shoreline, so recreation is concentrated in managed and free-access zones rather than spread uniformly around every bank.

Strandperle is one of two main summer lidos. Waldbad Sonja provides a quieter forest-side alternative, while Strandperle offers the heated pool, children’s pool and larger recreation programme. Choosing between them depends on whether visitors prioritise facilities or atmosphere.

The heated pool is particularly useful when lake water feels cool. It allows swimmers to remain outdoors while using a more controlled water environment. The children’s pool similarly gives younger visitors an alternative to deeper open water.

Because the lido and restaurant share a site, the Strandperle identity can appear ambiguous online. Current tourism pages separate the swimming complex from the restaurant and publish different hours. A visitor should plan them as adjacent services rather than one continuous all-day business.

The adjacent play area is large enough to be a destination within the lido day. Climbing structures, slides, balancing elements, tyres and a small house provide several kinds of play rather than one standard playground set.

Bark-mulch surfacing reduces impact around the play equipment, but adults still need to supervise children. Water, play areas and busy summer crowds create situations where a child can move quickly out of view.

Two sand beach-volleyball courts sit beside the playground and are designed to competition dimensions according to regional tourism information. Teenagers and adults can therefore add a genuinely active element to a beach day.

The restaurant terrace overlooks the lake and play area, making breaks convenient. Parents should nevertheless treat the terrace view as a supplement to supervision, not as a substitute.

The mix of pool, lake, playground and sport is Strandperle’s main competitive advantage over natural swimming spots. Families do not need to choose one activity for the entire group.

Rowboat and pedal-boat rental allows visitors to experience Wildsee from the water without swimming. Conditions and rental availability can change with weather and season, so the lido should confirm service on the day.

The lake is small enough for boating to feel recreational rather than like a transport trip. It provides a different perspective on Seefeld and the moorland shoreline while keeping visitors close to the lido.

Dog owners have a designated area on the right side of the pier where dogs may lie and enter the lake. This is a specific local rule rather than blanket permission throughout the bathing complex.

Dogs should not enter the heated pool or children’s pool and should remain under control around other bathers. Regional rules require responsible handling and leash use outside designated exceptions.

Visitors who want unrestricted dog swimming can also use free-access Wildsee sections where regional rules permit it. Möserer See is not an alternative for dogs because swimming there is prohibited for them.

The State of Tyrol monitors Seefelder See as an official bathing water. The state records an EU classification of excellent water quality for the assessment period 2021–2025 and runs five monitoring rounds during the 2026 bathing season.

Official monitoring is valuable because visual clarity alone cannot confirm microbiological quality. Results are published through the Tyrol bathing-water system as they become available.

Excellent classification does not make natural water risk-free. Temperature, sudden weather changes, swimming ability and depth remain relevant. Children who use the lake should receive the same close supervision as at any open-water beach.

The heated outdoor pool is a separate managed water environment. Visitors with young children or those uncomfortable in natural water may prefer it even on warm days.

After storms or unusual conditions, follow local signs and staff guidance rather than relying on historical quality classifications. Current operational advice always takes priority over a long-term rating.

For 4–30 September 2026, Region Seefeld publishes daily lido hours of 09:00–21:00. This is the correct seven-day schedule for the current cycle. The restaurant separately opens 10:00–22:00 through October.

The current official lido page does not publish a 2026 admission price. Older brochures show earlier tariffs and some third-party sources publish newer numbers, but those do not meet the project’s standard for a current verified price.

The correct visitor advice is therefore to confirm admission directly before travel, particularly if a hotel includes entry or if a guest card provides a benefit. Hotels in Seefeld sometimes advertise Strandperle admission as part of accommodation packages, and such inclusions are property-specific.

The lack of a verified price is not a valid HOLD reason. Hours, address, identity and facilities are current and well supported. The unresolved field simply needs transparent wording.

Visitors planning only the restaurant should also remember that restaurant access and lido admission can be treated differently. Ask on arrival if entering through the bathing area after pool closing.

September weather can vary widely. A long 09:00–21:00 operating window does not mean the pool or lake will be equally appealing all day; midday is usually the practical swimming period once mornings cool.

Strandperle is at Innsbrucker Straße 500, 6100 Seefeld. Open mapping places the complex at about 47.32254° north and 11.19234° east. The site lies close to Seefeld railway station and the southern edge of the centre.

Parking is available near the play area and lido, with charges applying according to regional visitor information. Drivers should follow current signs because parking operation can change seasonally.

The restaurant is explicitly listed as wheelchair accessible, and the wider Wildsee area has an accessible circular walking route. These are positive indicators, but the lido page does not provide a complete accessibility specification for pool entry, lawn gradients, changing spaces or the pier.

Visitors who need wheelchair pool transfer, step-free changing or accessible lake entry should contact the venue or tourism office before arrival. A general “wheelchair accessible” label for the restaurant should not be stretched to cover every swimming facility.

For most visitors, walking from central Seefeld is the easiest arrival. It avoids parking and makes it simple to combine the lido with the pedestrian zone, station and nearby walking routes.

The site works best when treated as a flexible recreation hub. Swim, play, eat and walk according to weather rather than trying to use every facility simply because it is included in one complex.

Strandperle’s strongest practical advantage is choice. A family can change plans without leaving the site: a child who dislikes cool lake water can use the heated pool, another visitor can rent a boat, and a non-swimmer can stay on the terrace or walk part of the Wildsee circuit. That flexibility is why the lido remains useful even when the current admission price is not published online. Its visitor value is operationally clear from the verified facilities and hours.
