Restaurant Stegerbräu is the public restaurant of Hotel & Gasthof Stegerbräu in the historic centre of Radstadt, at Schernbergstraße 14 just beyond the main town square. The Stiegler family has run the property since 2003, preserving the older vaulted structure while expanding and modernizing the restaurant and hotel around it. The building itself is estimated by the operator to be about 600 years old and once included storage connected with Radstadt’s brewery history. Today the hospitality complex includes several dining rooms, a large Bräusaal, hotel bar, breakfast room, children’s playroom and summer garden terrace. The result is a central Radstadt restaurant whose visitor value comes from both practical all-day service and the continuity of a long-used historic building.
The current 2026 opening information is unusually strong. Stegerbräu’s dedicated hours page says the à-la-carte restaurant reopened after its April company break on 16 April 2026 and is now open daily from 11:00 to 24:00. The full main menu is served from 11:00 to 14:00 and again from 17:00 to 21:00. Between 14:00 and 17:00, a smaller afternoon menu is available. A separate table-reservation page gives the same 11:00–24:00 venue span and states that the kitchen closes at 21:00. This agreement supports a clean seven-day schedule with no weekly rest day in the current period.
Breakfast adds a separate public service. Julie’s breakfast restaurant serves daily from 07:00 to 10:30, and Stegerbräu says outside à-la-carte guests can book breakfast in advance rather than being limited to hotel residents. After breakfast, Julie’s living-room-style café remains open until noon. That creates an unusually broad day for one address: breakfast and café in the morning, the main restaurant from 11:00, a reduced afternoon food selection, full dinner service and then drinks until midnight. The service bands matter because a traveller arriving at 15:30 should expect the afternoon card, not every item from the full lunch or dinner menu.
The cuisine is firmly Austrian but deliberately broad. Stegerbräu describes classics from Austrian cooking, regional seasonal specialities, daily recommendations and international dishes, with meat, fish, burgers, fried chicken and vegetarian or vegan options all part of the current menu structure. Radstadt Tourism also lists Stegerbräu among the current Bauernherbst hosts in September 2026, reinforcing the restaurant’s connection with regional seasonal food during the present visit period. Fondue can be arranged on advance order according to Radstadt’s winter restaurant guide, which shows that group or special meal formats extend beyond ordinary walk-in service.
The physical restaurant has several distinct spaces. The historic vaults and Stuben give the building its traditional character, while the Bräusaal handles larger gatherings and the summer Gastgarten provides outdoor seating. The operator lists a barrier-free toilet and a children’s playroom, both useful practical details for families and guests with mobility needs. These features do not amount to a complete accessibility audit of every dining room in a centuries-old building, but they offer stronger first-party evidence than most small-town restaurants publish. Visitors needing a step-free route to a specific room should still mention it when reserving.
Location is one of Stegerbräu’s easiest advantages. The hotel’s arrival page publishes precise GPS coordinates of 47.3847526, 13.4647686 and describes the property as central, about eighty metres beyond the town square on Schernbergstraße. It is therefore practical on foot for visitors staying in central Radstadt and close to town attractions. Drivers can approach via the B99 from the A10 Ennstal/Radstadt connection. Because the restaurant remains open later than its kitchen, walking or a local taxi is an attractive evening option for guests who plan to drink.
Dietary communication is better documented than at many regional inns. Stegerbräu’s FAQ says lactose-free and gluten-free needs are generally manageable, while special diets and intolerances should be communicated in the inquiry or booking so the team can say what is feasible. That is appropriately cautious wording and should remain so. It does not guarantee an allergen-free kitchen or zero cross-contact. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are part of the menu, but guests with medical dietary restrictions still need direct conversation with staff rather than relying only on menu labels.
Travellers can confidently use 11:00–24:00 as the current daily venue hours, plan the full menu before 14:00 or after 17:00, use the afternoon card between those periods and finish dinner before the 21:00 kitchen close. Breakfast visitors should reserve Julie’s separately. The historic setting, central location, family facilities and long service day make Stegerbräu a flexible choice whether the goal is regional lunch, an early dinner, a family meal, a Bauernherbst stop or simply an easy restaurant in the old-town area.
