Peakini Zone is the current gastronomy concept inside Peakini Farmhaus at Wernhartweg 1 in Untertauern, about six kilometres south of Radstadt and below Obertauern on the B99 corridor. The Austria queue calls the legacy entity “Peakini Burger Grill & Bar,” but the current first-party sites no longer use that as the main public name. They consistently call the restaurant Peakini Zone (Gastronomy) at Peakini Farmhaus. The venue is not a winter Obertauern restaurant: the operator explicitly says its winter season is closed and its active gastronomy period runs from late June through October.
On 10 September 2026, Peakini Zone is open in its summer season. The operator gives the exact period as 27 June to 26 October 2026, Wednesday through Sunday from 12:00 to 21:00, with Monday and Tuesday closed and continuous hot food until 21:00. Obertauern’s official summer directory publishes the same dates and hours, giving strong agreement between first-party and regional sources. The seven-day table therefore has no conflict to resolve. The current Thursday falls squarely inside the active period, and the restaurant can be planned normally rather than as a shoulder-season exception.
The food philosophy is deliberately broader than a burger grill. Peakini says it creates dishes from ingredients from the region and regional suppliers while “thinking outside the box,” and its 2026 program illustrates that approach through themed culinary weeks. Ibiza Days opened the season with Mediterranean influences, Fish Days ran from late August into early September, Asia Days are scheduled from 30 September to 4 October, and a goose-focused week closes the season from 21 to 26 October. These events show why the old “Burger Grill & Bar” label is too narrow for the current business: the venue is designed to move between cuisines and seasonal ideas rather than remain one fixed American-style restaurant.
Regionality is nevertheless central. Peakini’s wider brand emphasizes homemade products, some connected to its own agriculture, and the Peakini Zone page says regional ingredients and regional suppliers are part of the cooking. The FAQ confirms vegetarian dishes such as salads and other options, though it does not publish a complete vegan, gluten-free or allergen-management framework. Travellers with serious dietary requirements should therefore ask directly when reserving. For ordinary mixed groups, the current concept is intentionally flexible enough to support a broad summer audience rather than only one type of diner.
The setting is a rural farm-style property rather than Obertauern’s dense resort centre. The current first-party arrival instructions warn that some navigation systems struggle with the address and give detailed directions from the B99. From Radstadt, visitors travel roughly six kilometres toward Untertauern, pass the Arler settlement and turn up from the main road. The public bus stops directly opposite the access road at Untertauern Waldherr, and Radstadt railway station is about six kilometres away. The operator also says there are ample car spaces directly at Peakini Farmhaus. These details make the restaurant very practical without requiring a mountain lift, but travellers should follow the first-party route instructions rather than blindly trusting an old GPS point.
Peakini is also an accommodation and event property, which changes the atmosphere. The farmhaus has only a small number of distinctive guest rooms, and the Peakini Zone can host company celebrations and weddings. Special culinary weeks and private events can make a normal service day busier or more structured. The 2026 event calendar already shows that late September and October will have themed periods. A group coming specifically for one of those programs should reserve and ask what menu format applies rather than assuming the ordinary daily food offer remains unchanged.
Dogs are explicitly allowed in public areas during the summer season under the property’s current FAQ, with an accommodation fee applying to resident guests. For a restaurant visitor, the important point is that the operator does not ban dogs from all public spaces, unlike some hotel restaurants in the region. Still, guests should ask when reserving if they need a specific indoor table with a dog or if a themed event has different rules. Parking and payment are also well documented for hotel guests, but restaurant-only visitors should follow any on-site instructions rather than assume every accommodation benefit applies automatically.
Peakini Zone is best used as a summer dining destination for people travelling between Radstadt, Untertauern and Obertauern or for guests who want a meal away from the denser high resort. The 12:00–21:00 schedule allows a relaxed lunch, afternoon stop or dinner, and continuous hot food removes the usual Alpine gap between lunch and evening service. Avoid Monday and Tuesday, reserve for special weeks or groups, and search for Peakini Farmhaus rather than the outdated “Peakini Burger Grill & Bar” wording.
