The beer house in the heart of Salzburg’s old town entices with timeless pub culture in an authentic 1930s atmosphere. Since 1823, the house, which is one of the oldest buildings in the city, has been a gastronomic home for everyone; and since 1907 it has been known as the Zipfer Bierhaus. Therefore, the Zipfer Bierhaus is considered one of the oldest inns in the city center of Salzburg. This is not the only reason why we consider it our gastronomic task to value genuine tavern culture as a heritage and to keep it authentically alive as a timeless tradition. Far from kitsch, which is inflationary in a tourist city like Salzburg, we appreciate the value of something special all the more. The Zipfer Bierhaus stands for down-to-earth quality, good Austrian cuisine and offers a wide selection of beers. In the warm seasons, there is also an outdoor dining area from which you can watch the hustle and bustle of the market on Universitätsplatz.
