Zeiss Planetarium of the City of Vienna

The City of Vienna’s Zeiss Planetarium is one of the world’s most modern planetariums. It is located in Vienna’s Prater and shares a building with the Prater Museum. The planetarium, together with the observatories Kuffner and Urania, is a specialist facility of the Viennese adult education centers.

The Planetarium has the world’s most contemporary star projector, which depicts the starry sky in the numerous “astro shows” as nearly life-like as possible. Stars, star clusters, galaxies, and nebulae will also be seen in their natural hues. These produce a stunning appearance, frequently shining in a beautiful and enigmatic manner. More than 9,000 of these strange things in the sky may be seen. Many of them are invisible to the human eye, but the Planetarium has a one-of-a-kind laser picture projector. This unique projector provides extra celestial images, videos, and computer animation in vibrant colors. See how the enormous and intriguing world comes to life!

The Planetarium normally has shows at 9.30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 3 p.m., 6 p.m., or 7 p.m.While the presentations change frequently, they mainly center on how the Earth fits into the grand scheme of things. Please keep in mind that the shows are only available in German.
