Welterbemuseum Hallstatt

Welterbemuseum Hallstatt in Hallstatt, Upper Austria, has an unrivaled collection of relics from local salt mines and Iron Age graves. These finds have cemented Hallstatt’s position as the type site for the important Hallstatt civilisation. The museum is near to the Hallstättersee, which is located beneath the salt mines on the slope. UNESCO has listed the museum, salt mines, and Dachstein Ice Cave as World Heritage Sites.
